Tότε και Τώρα: 1969-2025
📍 Είσοδος των Βασιλικών Τεχνικών Σχολών Λέρου – Περιοχή Ναυστάθμου Αγίου Γεωργίου

Ιστορική φωτογραφία από την κύρια πύλη των Βασιλικών Τεχνικών Σχολών, που λειτούργησαν από το 1949 στον πρώην ιταλικό Ναύσταθμο του Αγίου Γεωργίου στη Λέρο. Η εντυπωσιακή είσοδος, με τους καλλωπισμένους χώρους και τη χαρακτηριστική νησίδα, αποτελεί εμβληματικό δείγμα της εποχής και συνδέεται με την ιστορία της στρατιωτικής και κοινωνικής ζωής του νησιού.

Στο σημείο αυτό πραγματοποιούνταν ο έλεγχος εισόδου, ενώ οι εγκαταστάσεις φιλοξενούσαν δομές εκπαίδευσης, φιλοξενίας, τεχνικής υποστήριξης και καθημερινής ζωής. Η διαμόρφωση του περιβάλλοντος χώρου αντικατοπτρίζει την αισθητική και λειτουργικότητα μιας σημαντικής εποχής για τη Λέρο.

📍 Entrance of the Royal Technical Schools of Leros – Naval Base Area of Agios Georgios

A historic photo of the main gate of the Royal Technical Schools, which operated from 1949 in the former Italian naval base of Agios Georgios on Leros. The impressive entrance, with its landscaped surroundings and distinctive roundabout, stands as an emblematic symbol of the era and is closely linked to the island’s military and social history.

This location served as a checkpoint, while the facilities housed structures for education, accommodation, technical support, and daily life. The design of the surrounding area reflects the aesthetics and functionality of a significant period for Leros.

Special thanks to Mr. Kostas Pachos for his valuable contribution to the documentation of this text.
