The olive branch - symbol of peace and friendship 🌿

The myth says that Zeus started a competition between Poseidon and Athena for the rule of Athens and demanded a sacrifice from both of them. Poseidon struck a rock with his trident, creating a spring, and Athena caused an olive tree to sprout with silky leaves and many olives.

Zeus decided to name Athena the winner, and since then the olive tree or olive branch has been an important mythological symbol.
