Brindisi-Corfu Regatta 2016

On the 8th of June, the International Regatta Brindisi-Corfu raises sails. Yachts participating in the race will take start on Wednesday afternoon at the Marina of Brindisi and will finish the next day at Kassiopi in Corfu, having traveled approximately 110 nautical miles.

The Regatta, which this year celebrates 31 years of continuous presence in the sailing events of the Adriatic, is organized by the Sailing Club of Brindisi and the Sailing Club of Gouvia Marina. More than 100 yachts are expected to participate in this year’s event.
After the finishing line, all yachts will be hosted in Gouvia marina where the awards ceremony will be held for the winners of all categories as well as a party organized by the marina.

On June 10th lifts sails the 30th International Regatta Brindisi - Corfu.

Vessels participating in the race will take start at noon on June 10 from the marina of Brindisi and will finish the next day at Kassiopi in Corfu having traveled approximately 110 nautical miles.

The race is organized by Circolo Della Vela Brindisi and the Sailing Club of Gouvia marina and more than 100 yachts from Italy, Greece and other countries of the Adriatic are expected to participate.

On 12th of June in Gouvia marina will take place the prize ceremony and the evening will end with a party for crews and other guests with food, music and dancing.

Gouvia and Lefkas marinas have been awarded with the "Blue Flag" for 2014. Both Marinas are awarded since 2007 meeting 24 strict criteria concerning cleanliness, organization, safety, protection of nature and environmental awareness.

The Hellenic Society for the Protection of Nature has announced that, Greece was ranked 2nd on the Blue Flag quality awards this year among 51 countries. In total, 408 beaches and 10 marinas in Greece have been recognized for their excellent seawater quality, litter management, organization of the swimming area, safety procedures for bathers and protection of the environment, among other factors.

Renovation works in Zea, Gouvia and Lefkas marinas
An entended program of renovation works is being carried out in Zea, Gouvia and Lefkas marinas. The works include the full reconstruction of all sanitaries units, landscaping upgrade, CCTV systems, gardening, new signage plan, arrangement of the entrances etc.
Thus, the rendered services are greatly upgraded meeting our customers expectations.

New flights started on 19th of April from Schiphol airport in Amsterdam to the Ionian islands with Transavia airline. There are two flights to Corfu and Lefkas while there is one flight to Kefalonia and Zakynthos.
Departures are set as follows (local time):
• 04:30 HV611 – to Corfu
• 05:50 HV1389 – to Lefkas/Aktio Airport and Zakynthos
• 06:10 HV693 – to Corfu and Kefalonia
• 12:05 HV791 – to Lefkas/Aktio

There are also new flights to Corfu with Ryanair from Eindhoven since 4th of April, from 16th of July from Bologna to Lefkas with Blu-Express every Wednesday and from 22nd of July from Rome to Lekfas every Tuesday with Vueling Airlines.
