Photos from last week's workshop on "Sustainability to everyday life".
It was the first day of the successful 3-days sustainability events brought out by the IHU students and alumni team Students for Sustainability - International Hellenic University
Sustainability to everyday life workshop had a total duration of 3 hours and was divided into 3 different sessions. The workshop was conducted in Greek while 70 people participated in all sessions. Participants elaborated on 3 given stresses/shocks:
• Transportation
• Heat wave
• Refugees
Additionally, they examined possible impacts on the three pillars of Sustainability in terms of city resilience. A general discussion followed in order to understand the deeper and complicated extent of Sustainable Development theory.
The conclusions of the workshop was presented in the 2nd International Conference on Sustainable Development while they will be included as a chapter in the 2nd manual for Sustainable Development, being written by the group “Students for Sustainability” of the International Hellenic University.
By this workshop, we aimed to promote and reinforce the importance of sustainable development in a wider context. We seeked to bring together for the first time, in a context of collective actions and efforts, city agencies, entrepreneurs and citizens. The interactive feature of the sessions was the ideal stage to highlight and emphasise the importance of sustainable development and the city resilience.
Special thanks to TIF Helexpo for providing us their premises for the purposes of our workshops!
The workshop was conducted through the synergy of Students for Sustainability - International Hellenic University, Youthnest and Resilient Thessaloniki and we would like to honestly thank them for their enormous support!!!
