Luke 13 -Sants Lucia a day celebrated in parts of Europe.

Saint Lucy's Day, also called the Feast of Saint Lucy, is a Christian feast day observed on 13 December. The observance commemorates Lucia of Syracuse, an early-fourth-century virgin martyr under the Diocletianic Persecution, who according to legend brought food and aid to Christians hiding in the Roman catacombs, wearing a candle lit wreath on her head to light her way and leave her hands free to carry as much food as possible. Her feast day, which coincided with the shortest day of the year prior to calendar reforms, is widely celebrated as a festival of light. Falling within the Advent season, Saint Lucy's Day is viewed as a precursor of Christmastide, pointing to the arrival of the Light of Christ in the calendar on Christmas Day.

11th of December - Dreams are necessary. Without there is no ambition to chase, no goal to reach.

Not having dreams is a wild goose chase. We must know what we want to do and follow that ambition. We can’t achieve anything in life without goals, and for these goals, we need to dream.

Most people have dreams. Big ones or small ones. Even the most successful people had dreams and that is what has made them what they are today. Dreaming is essential for a human being. Without dreams, you will lose interest in life and finally hate to live life. You will be bored and tired of the same monotonous routines of your daily life and will not even find interest in the most exciting things. Only with dreams, will you find a purpose to live your life. You will start working hard towards the dream and will never lose interest in life. You will never tire and always be motivated. This is the best way to become successful.

But with dreams, comes great responsibility. It is just not enough to dream and forget about that dream. Many people dream, but only some wake up and work for it.

It is essential to work hard for your dreams. Without this hard work, a dream will only remain a desire in the subconscious mind and will never be achieved.

Your dream is the reason for the way you are! Your dream is not a coincidence. Your dream IS who you are. You SHOULD pursue it! Your dream gives you a sense of meaning and purpose, and drives you on into your chosen future. Your dream is the meaning of your life!

Most of us have clothes or gifts that we haven't opened or used. You can empty your cupboards and shelves and fill someone else's heart. Give them to someone, filling them with joy. We collect gifts for children and adults of all ages.
This Christmas, make a difference and bring joy to your fellow human beings.

The Néa Agorá or New Market near the harbor is a large 7-sided building. It has an outdoor central courtyard in which several shops and restaurants.

Built In the early 20th-century, Arabian-style marketplace with souvenir stores & tavernas in an inner courtyard.

The building is an impressive building with Golden corner and domes.

Often used as a Meetingpoint in Rhodes Town.

It will soon be under renovation for a different operation.

St. Nicholas Day on December 6 celebrates of course carries some connection to Christmas and Santa Claus, but there is much more to this holiday and St. Nicholas than that.

One well-known story of St. Nicholas involves a dowry for a father’s three daughters. In the third century, it was common for fathers to offer money to prospective husbands. However, one poor father with three daughters did not have money to do this. St. Nicholas paid for all three daughters’ dowries by leaving gold in their shoes.

It’s our 2nd day in our advent calendar, and in Greece the December month is the Month we usually think of winter and celebrations. Therefore we call today’s door for S standing for Social.
December is the first month of winter, which means you for sure say “kalo xeimona” – “Καλό χειμώνα”.
But in the seasonal destinations many say this to each other already when they are closing down the resorts and tourist related businesses in the end of October.

December is the most festive month of the year in Greece, and also a month with celebration of many popular saints and therefore namedays.
Apart from Christmas we also have many other religious feasts and important name days. In Greece, overall name days are more important than birthdays, so have a look if you have any Greek friends when their nameday is celebrated.
