Baked Fish🐟 Mediterranean cooking is not complicated! In a baking tray place cleaned and gutted fish (or filliet), lemon wedges, extra virgin olive oil, garlic, sea salt, herbs and onions in cavity. Bake for 30 minutes. Enjoy!

Mount Mavrovouni forms the natural border of the Pindus- Valia Kalda national park. Flega, the mountain’s summit at an elevation of 2,157m, rates among the most easily accessible ones and offers spectacular views of nearby mountains- Smolikas, Vasilitsa, Peristeri and others, as well as of the two alpine lakes, which bear the same name and are home to the rare amphibian Triton. During the winter months, the peaks surrounding Valia Kalda are clad in white, transforming the region into a hiking paradise.

ΦΑΚΕΣ LENTIL SOUP 🍲 I don't think I know of a Greek child who has dodged eating a version of lentil soup growing up. To be honest, as a child I can't say I was a huge fan, but as an adult I find myself craving and absolutely loving it🫠 Photographed here is exactly how my parents have enjoyed eating it throughout their life. There is always fresh whole garlic cloves on the side, raw onion, plenty of rye bread (drizzled with olive oil & oregano), olives a dash of vinegar, fetta cheese and a glass of red wine. No wonder why a mosquito won't even come close🤣let alone a flu! A power house of vitamins right here! Who can relate? 😄 Recipe in Hellenic Kanella cookbook.

Megalochori is a picturesque, full of life village with friendly, lively residents. The central square is the heart of the village where locals gather in traditional cafes to unwind and have fun, creating a warm atmosphere. It is definitely worth spending an evening here in order to be part of this sentiment and taste local dishes under the natural shade the trees provide.
