Here we go again - the best life lived by hungry travelers at tavern “Anna” (she is real and authentic) in the seaside village in South. What have we got here? Sea bream, Greek salad, fava, calamari (I am not sure they made it into the photo), dolmas - stuffed wine leaves and anthus- stuffed zucchini flowers

Indisputably good food! Fava, dolmas and Greek salad, washed down by local rose! I just travelled half of Greece - eating, eating, eating and this is the best thing to return to!

Beauty and Butterfly! It is the last day of the last month of spring and tomorrow is beginning of the summer. Although with such a beautiful weather, swimming season already launched, late night outdoor sitting the boundaries between spring and summer have merged. Have already booked your ticket to Crete?

Eleni has mastered that subtle art of highly intuitive wine handling - pouring into wine glass without looking or even blinking of an eye (well, almost). It’s Eleni’s name day today - χρόνια πολλά! She is the queen and soul (both in one person) at the family- owned tavern. One of the most heartfelt, best foods ever. Food for soul.

The life is here and now! It’s all you need to know about good life on Crete - generous, fresh, homemade, juicy, soaked in own golden, slightly bitter tasting, absolutely delicious olive oil, seasoned with lemon, picked from own garden. Dolmadakia such a mouth watering stuff, literally an artwork. The greek salad with fresh ingredients soaked in a yellow sea of olive oil, red wine - from local, those mystic indigenous varieties! Welcome to the South of Crete! Catch of the day and Maria! We had several sea basses, sea breams, calamari, lots of white wine, Greek salad, (boiled) greens with plenty of lemon seasoning, tarama (meze made from tarama, the salted and cured roe of the cod). The best seafood in at Maria’s Fish Tavern. Go, visit her and tell her that Joseph (Iosif) sent you!
