Japanese airline JAL is adopting gender-inclusive language on its flights and airport. The first Asian airline that will be dropping language like “ladies and gentlemen” to “attention all passengers” and “welcome, everyone.” The airline announced earlier this year that female flight attendants will have more freedom in how they dress. The airline also implemented other policies to promote gender equality.
JAL Express, hired Japan’s first-ever female commercial air pilot last year.

A British Airways spokesperson has confirmed to the BBC that indeed it will retire it's entire fleet of Boeing 747-400s with immediate effect. British Airways was the largest operator of the Queen of the skies with 31 in their fleet, now down to nothing. British Airways originally intended to retire the 747 in 2024, but due to a sharp downturn in air travel from the pandemic, the retirement has been pushed early. British Airways has been operating the 747 family since 1974, the -400 variant since 1989... Long live the queen 👑

The Maldives is now open to travellers from Wednesday, July 15, according to the country's Ministry of Tourism.

The Indian Ocean archipelago is now welcome international visitors from July 15, after being closed to outsiders since March.

Initially, hotels located on uninhabited islands and liveaboard boats also open. Guesthouses and hotels on inhabited islands will open from Saturday, August 1, unless for transit purposes.

All travellers will be given a 30-days tourist visa free of charge upon arrival and there will be no minimum stay required, but tourists must have a confirmed accommodation booking before travelling to the archipelago. Multiple resort stays are not allowed at this time and travellers can only use another hotel or guesthouse if it is for transit purposes when arriving or departing the island.
