Can’t believe I still get likes on this page😁 whether you are my old friend or new friend, a big thank you to you!

It’s been so long!! And a lot happened in the world we live in. I miss traveling as much as guiding. Do you get to travel these day though?

Obviously I’m not much of an online person. That’s why there’s not much updates on this page (sorry😅).

Good news is my passion for guiding hasn’t changed a single tiny bit. Instead, the whole COVID-19 situation has inspired me to figure out new ways to continue what I do. More online content coming soon so you can (re)visit Hong Kong from afar.😙 (I even invested in a MacBook Pro 😬💸💸💸)

Now I need some iced tea to freshen me up from my first video editing...it’s been 4 days straight...🤪Please look forward to it.

As I tell visitors, we are good Chinese people who can’t stay in China- we need to run.

My father swam across the sea from China to Hong Kong. He was just one of the millions people who risked their lives to escape China during 60s and 70s.

Our family in China was a honorable one for all the teachers, poets, scholars and musicians of the old generations. Unfortunately they were from a place called HaiFeng that it is now called homeland of Red. It was one of the very first towns where communists started its revolution and later spread it over to the whole country.

Our houses and complex were occupied as the headquarter of the Soviet government. The people were tortured physically and mentally.

Only Ma Si Cong, the greatest violinist in China was saved by Zhou En Lai and sent to the US. He was just like Ai Wei Wei’s father that he was a patriot and used to study in Paris at his young age. But he had to run.

What happened to the rest of the family was too horrible to tell. My father lived a life more hardcore than Bear Grylls in Men Vs Wild. That’s what pushed him to divide into the water in a blistering cold winter night.

He still loves the land. That emotion was also passed along to me when I was little. But now, things are not the same any more. People in the country are celebrating while people like me find it ridiculous.

I love my people. I am proud to be culturally Chinese as we, here in Hong Kong, inherit the good old virtues. Yet, we must go.

No coming back as this country is no place for good men.

For those who are now in HK, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE keep your mask on! 😷

Avoid crowded areas and mandarin speaking people. Breathe in some fresh air in the nature if you will.

Just don’t go to China. If you did, better self quarantine and watch out.

That’s all I can say. I’m sorry China once again fu**ed up. And we must not be dragged by them!

How was your 2019?

I survived.

So much going on in the past two years: tours, shows, album, and then protests... I couldn’t even visit Po Po often ( I mean grandma, not the police, of course.)

But Po Po is doing great. I visited her last week, and got so fueled up by grandma’s cooking.

So I made this video to send you my greetings, feelings and thoughts, also share with you how I am doing lately.

A bit of delay. But I hope it arrives.

Wish you a fruitful year and a better life! I am going to make more time for my girlfriend Zoe, before she starts to complain.😉

Groups of tourism practitioners just went on a demonstration asking the government to “punish the riots”. Yes I also suffer from a big decrease in business. But, regardless of what industry you are in, if you can’t distinguish right from wrong, you are never my fellows. Because I am by the side of Hong Kong people.

Firstly, thanks everyone for checking in with me. Armie is still safe and fine. Thanks for the kind wishes, love and support.

As we struggle in pain, business has gone down a lot. But I am busy as always. Still doing the public tour telling the truth that upsets China and the local government. Joining protests from time to time. Making and finally releasing my debut album while putting up the re-run of my storytelling show No Coming Back.

The show will be on 8 Sep in Chai Wan, Hong Kong this year and we are taking it to Adelaide, Australia next year.

I still gotta carry on, to tell our stories and inspire people, as always, as I believe to be alive is to be passionately doing what you believe in.

Last night I attended the opening of the art festival I participate. Although we have different topics and genre of performances, we all try to respond to our society at this particular time. We shall overcome. And promise you come see me again.

The weather is steaming, the police is shooting tear gas everywhere , but it won’t stop me from telling stories.

This year I am putting up the re-run of my solo show No Coming Back. It’s a show that puts together my Berlin story and the songs I wrote there.

That was 2016 when I headed to Germany. I wasn’t traveling. Nope. I was trying to live there as long as possible.

Why Germany though? Well...hard to explain. But we all did hear of how good the country is, right? Seems that people there all get to live a good life. At least there’s rental control. At least kids are happy and students can feel free to choose what they want to study. At least we don’t see a dark future coming upon the country.

But it wasn’t easy at all. Not for outsiders.

I gotta to find a proper job, fix my visa, and get my German right. Or I would have to go home which I wouldn’t. And I couldn’t.

I mean, I had risked everything to get that one way ticket to Berlin. My girlfriend too. We even brought our old cat there as we believed, after struggled, we ride together, die together. There’s no coming back.

Yet, I ended up returning to Hong Kong. My home city, the city where locals are frustrated. As you knew, I got to start my life anew. But why did I have to run away from Hong Kong? What happened in Berlin? And why did I return to Hong Kong? Of course these are the questions I will have to answer through storytelling.

But there is more. The real important ones.

What’s home? And who are we? Why leave home?

This September I will share with my local audience what I have been through and my thoughts. Of course my music too. And I look forward to seeing you next year at Fringe Festival in Adelaide Australia.

We are still trying to do something for the city and ourselves. And to Armie, it has to be storytelling.

The world has been paying attention to Hong Kong’s hard battle. I am thankful to realize that many foreigners are looking into the details themselves. But let’s not neglect the very basic and fundamental part: the promise of Hong Kong remaining unchanged for 50 years. This is basically what we fight for in EVERY protest and demonstration.

Super engaging group! Despite the hard battle we HK people are fighting and, honestly, the worsening situation, people still come visit and find out the truth. So many questions were asked, and I appreciate it!

Yes! There is truth and justice and it shall be sought. There are only people fooled by twisted nationalism and cowards who play cynical out of fear. But there are never democratic fighters brainwashed by belief in freedom and justice.
