"We came as a party of eight ( us and our adult children) looking for a place to hike. This garden provided a well marked trail with optional obstacles which was exactly what we were looking for. About 4 mile round trip with some great vieing spots along the way. Rewarded at the end with fresh made smoothies at the lovely cafe on site"

Off the northern coast of mainland Honduras is a skinny, 32-mile-long island called Roatán. This Central American paradise has been a hot spot for divers for several years. But you don’t have to be a diver to fall in love with the place.

We were so pleased with our tour last year that we insisted on Blue Harbor mixed greens on this years vacation.. On an island that relies on 98% of its produce from the mainland. Blue Harbor has established a much needed organic horticultural niche i!! Always fresh How blessed that they were a part of our daily meals!!

“Hydroponic farming: growing plants by placing the roots in liquid nutrients rather than soil”.
You might have heard about hydroponic farming at Disney’s EPCOT or read about NASA planning to use hydroponic farming on man’s journey to Mars. If you thought it was science fiction, come see 70,000 heads of lettuce and herbs being grown everyday in WATER NOT SOIL! . See the lettuce that tonight might be in your salad. Come learn how hydroponic farming leads in water conservation, sustainability and, we believe, the future for safer, fresher, longer lasting produce in your kitchen.

Explore our orchards featuring an exciting mix of different species of tropical fruit trees. From the most exotic Noni, Carombolla (Star Fruit) Mango, and Avocado to the classic Limes, Oranges and Pink Grapefruits. Our 400 mature Cashew Nut trees have just been expanded with our new orchard of 900 seedlings. (hopefully starting the commercialization of cashew production on the island.) While strolling through the orchards admire our exotic tropical flowers strategically arranged throughout the property. For the more adventuresome there is an extended walk to view our mini-orchards of Pineapple, Coffee, Cacao, several species of Banana such as Plantain and Roatan’s favorite Apple Bananas.

If you’ve ever heard of Tough Mudders or Spartan Races, you know exactly what this entails: 2.5 kilometers of crawling through mud pits, running up and down hillsides, climbing up rope ladders and over mountains of tires. If you are ready for an extreme challenge, the course at Blue Harbor Tropical Arboretum is your answer.
