“Dolphin Action Swim in Roatan”

Have a thrilling time with fun loving Bottlenose Dolphins while in Roatan!

This dynamic dolphin activity begins with a brief introduction to two dolphins, who will greet you on the platform with a handshake, a kiss, and a friendly smile. You’ll then enter the water for a playful swim
to experience an exciting “Footpush”, as the dolphins push you by the feet above and around the water’s surface, allowing you to feel their speed and strength! Then, take it easy on a ride around the lagoon, while holding on their smooth dorsal fins for the famed “Dorsal Ride”. Also, they will amuse you with various water behaviors, vocal skills, tail splashes and applause. Professional photos will be taken to capture
your amazing time.

Must be 5 years or older to participate.
An adult must accompany ages 5-13.
Pregnant women are not allowed.
Participants must be able to swim.
Participants will wear a lifejacket while in the water.
Personal cameras are permitted during the platform session ONLY.
Professional photographs will be taken during the activity.
Total time with the dolphins is 45 minutes.

Fishing in Roatan is arguably the oldest industry in Roatan. There are world class fishing charters & anglers in Roatan, but It is not uncommon to find local fishermen just a few yards away from the shoreline fishing on a string. Many local fishers take out wooden canoes carved out of tree trunks. Armed with only fishing string, hooks, and bait, fishers lower fishing string down with live bait and begin pulling at the string to lure in the fish. As soon as a fish bit, a tug of way ensues, and the reeling in is done by hand. Fish are pulled in by hand the old fashion way.

Common catching includes Tuna, Bill Fish, Barracuda, Wahoo, Mahi-Mahi, Grouper, Tarpon, and of course, the Blue Marlin. There are many more species, to be sure, but these vary according to the season. The northern side of the island is usually less choppy than the south. And the East End is less trafficked. So depending on how much time you have, you might want to get over the east side of Roatan and fish along the northern coast.
