With no homes, stores or public amenaties, it is the ideal place to relax and unwind and enjoy the traquility from the everyday hustle and bustle. It is a privately owned island, but is opened to the public for recreational uses such as parties and picnic or just enjoying the great reefs that surround the Cay. You are also welcome to spend the night and camp out of that is something that you enjoy
. Water Cay is host to the infamous international rave known as SunJam. SunJam is held on the first weekend of August and has become a well known trance party that has grown tremendously over the past 16 years. Sunday's on Water Cay has been a local tradition for many years. It has now opened its doors and welcomed all travelors to enjoy and learn the traditions of the locals on the island. It includes local reggae music, foods, and drinks. A big part of island tradition on Sunday's is to relax and unwine so, come get a hammock and relax on the beach or snorkel the excusite reefs that surround the island. Water Cay is only a 15 minute boat ride from the main town of Utila. Trasportation is easily available from any local fisherman daily.
