Galešnik is a medieval Roman fortress built over Illyrian foundations. Its alternative name is Grad, meaning Town, and as such it was still inhabited in early medieval times.

About 210m above sea level, the fortress is twenty metres wide and is surrounded by a wall. The building, about 40m2, is partially preserved and the 'Town' provides an interesting perspective on the Stari Grad Plain, Jelsa town and nearby villages.

A unique example of well preserved rural architecture, about 7 km from Jelsa, formerly a pastoral village, Humac originated in the 17th century. At the height of 350 m above sea level, here you have a magnificent panoramic view of all the surrounding places, coves, the island of Brač and Makarska’s coast. The charm of this village lies in its harmonious stone houses, courtyards, balconies, narrow streets and nature which all give an inspiring sight.
