According to local legend, the waterfall was once inhabited by flocks of ravens that drew strength from the very waters of the fall. People who lived in the area witnessed miraculous healings of wounded ravens after they drank from it. On one occasion, a wounded raven with a broken wing landed at the waterfall, and according to the legend, just a few moments later (after drinking from the water) it soared into the sky as if it had never been injured.

The waterfall was then named "Raven's Wing" in honor of the miraculous healing of the birds. The waterfall was once home to various animal life, and fish, crayfish, and other river creatures could be found in its waters.

Boljun is an ancient town in the northeast of Istria, in the Lupoglav Municipality. It was built around the well-preserved medieval castle. The town has a wide view of the Boljunฤica Valley and the Uฤka mountain range. From the 15th to the end of the 17th century this not a town, not a village place reached the peak of its development.
