As all good things come to an end, we are also closing the Lokrum season 2021 with the last boat tomorrow, November 21.

Use this beautiful autumn weather for a final relaxing stroll on our favorite island. Thank you for your visits and smiles, see you in 2022 💚

Please note that the boat schedule has changed and because of shorter days, the last boat from Lokrum departs at 6pm.

Days are still nice, the sea is still warm, no excuses for not visiting our piece of heaven ☺️

[WORLD CLEANUP DAY] Please note that on Saturday, September 18th the first boat to Lokrum will depart at 12:00 from the Old City Port. Together with diving club, employees of Lokrum Nature Reserve will use the morning to clean the underwater of Portoč harbor, thus joining the global initiative World CleanUp Day.

Unfortunately, due to Covid-19 this cleanup action is not available for public participation.

AKCIJA ZELENA ČISTKA NA LOKRUMU-18.09.2021.g♻
U subotu 18.09.2021.g. brodovi Rezervata Lokrum neće ploviti do 12:00 sati obzirom da će se na otoku Lokrumu u sklopu globalne akcije World CleanUp Day održavati Zelena čistka koju organizira Grad Dubrovnik u suradnji s Javnom ustanovom Rezervat Lokrum.
Ove godine će uz Ronilački klub sudjelovati samo djelatnici Javne ustanove Rezervat Lokrum zbog situacije s COVID pandemijom.
Prvi brod s posjetiteljima je u 12:00 sati kada i završava akcija Zelena čistka.
Sva ostala plovila će za vrijeme trajanja akcije biti vraćena u Gradsku luku, obzirom da će na području uvale Portoč Ronilački klub Dubrovnik provoditi aktivnosti čišćenja podmorja.
Ovo su 3 sata za podmorje otoka Lokruma, stoga unaprijed zahvaljujemo građanima i posjetiteljima na razumijevanju što 18.09.2021. godine neće moći koristiti brodove Rezervata Lokrum u 09:00, 10:00, 10:30, 11:00 i 11:30 sati.

Tomorrow, September 15th, the first boat to Lokrum will depart at 12:00 as the morning will be reserved for testing a sea floor cleaning robot in Portoč bay 💚

TESTIRANJE AUTONOMNOG ROBOTA ZA ČIŠĆENJE OTPADA-15. rujna u uvali Portoč
U sklopu projekta SeaClear održat će se testiranje autonomnog robota za čišćenje otpada s morskog dna u uvali Portoč 15. rujna 2021. godine. Projekt „Pretraživanje, identifikacija i prikupljanje otpada u moru s autonomnim robotima“ ili „SeaClear“ provode Regionalna agencija DUNEA i Sveučilište u Dubrovniku
S obzirom na navedeno, prvi brod s posjetiteljima kreće u 12:00 sati, odnosno nakon završetka akcije čišćenja. Molimo ostale prijevoznike posjetitelja na otok Lokrum da svoje usluge izvršavaju nakon 12.00 sati.

[THANK YOU] Tomorrow, November 15 will be the last day of this season to visit Lokrum. This autumn has been very kind to us with beautiful weather which enabled us extended season for keeping our favorite island open.

We would like to thank all dear visitors for coming and enjoying Lokrum, our maritime staff for responsible and punctual boat service, our numerous island staff for keeping you and our island safe, as well as all “behind the scene” employees of the nature reserve who make year round effort for everything to run smoothly.

Busy maintenance schedule is ahead of us, so see you again in spring 2021 💚

Enjoying the autumn stroll around Lokrum’s paths can lead you to rare and interesting sights, such as this red cage mushroom (Clathrus ruber), here commonly known under a very descriptive name - witch’s heart 😮

‼️IMPORTANT ‼️ This mushroom is NOT EDIBLE and it is STRICTLY FORBIDDEN to pick anything on the island.

We’ve been blessed with warm and sunny autumn days which enable us to visit our favorite island; spend time in island’s beautiful nature, hang out with family and friends. Braver ones still use the opportunity to take a dip in the Adriatic (sea temperature is 21C!). Lokrum is such a treasure 💚

Sitting across from the Old Town Harbour, Lokrum Island is a perfect half day trip from Dubrovnik. Lokrum is in fact a nature reserve with strict measures in place to keep it one of the most beautiful islands in the Dubrovnik area.
Some of the best secluded beaches are found here and it is even home to ‘The Iron Throne’. Game of Thrones fans will love visiting the Monastery there. Also did you know it has its own ‘Dead Sea’?

The result of today’s cleanup: over 84 kg (!!!) of underwater waste (mostly plastic) and around 10 kg of waste on the shore. Thank you to all participants of this action for their hard work 💚

🙏 Please take care of our environment and dispose the waste properly. Collectively, individual action can help create the environmental change we so desperately seek. 💚
