Old stone houses on our islands represents our authentic heritage connected to the traditional way of living. Limestone was used in the past as a part of the main construction material. Extraordinary example of how this authentic constructing mode can be used nowadays to make luxury heritage hotel is shown on the example of Lemon Garden Hotel in Sutivan where the investors have used and repurposed traditional stone houses to make the most luxurious hotel and its facilities on the island of Brac.

Every Summer in July, main Imperial square in Split - Peristyle, becomes a stage for outstanding opera’s and musical masterpieces that “conquered” the world.
The stage becomes a backdrop for all the dramma and the music that encompasses the square, as a part of Split Summer Festival. Even Diocletian himself would of been impressed with such combination of architecture and the music left to our legacy. You can’t help out thinking: “What a stage! What a music! What an emperor!”

Croatia has it all from travelers perspective: beautiful landscapes, intriguing history, easy going lifestyle, interesting cultural background, welcoming people, extraordinary food & wine and stunning Adriatic in combination with a mild Mediterranean climate. Who could have wished fore more.

Moonlight sonata showed us the way. We followed. Nocturnal walks with friends revealed some fabulous hotspots of Split by night. 🌙💙

We ran into rare “Art Nouveau” palace that impresses with its beauty, recently renewed and turned into luxury hotel = Heritage Piazza Hotel.
It proudly dominates the eastern angle of the Piazza, as the gathering spot of many visitors and locals.
Not less beautiful, the other classical architectural beauty - Heritage Piazza Central Hotel, occupies the southern angle of the same square and impresses with its shining facade as it once did in the past. It gain the character of an ultimate city caffè place with its glance of the once known “Austrian” typical cafeteria. Somewhere in the middle there is a Venetian influenced small heritage hotel - Judita, charmingly inviting and elegant.
Irresistible.

During our night walk out we also stoped at
• Prokurative
• many “kala’s” - typical narrow, stone paved streets
• Diocletian’s apartment
• Peristyle - main, imperial square from the roman times

The mixture of different architectonic styles gives this city a lot of character. No matter how many times I passed by I am still not immune on its beauty and seductiveness.

Travelling to Croatia has all “customer friendly” inputs, with easy guidlines to follow. Once you are here we can’t wait for you to experience some of our cultural beauties that have been “put to sleep” during 2020. Now it’s time to wake them up... to wake ourselves up and begin with some “fresh starts”. 💙

On this day - January 16th, 59 years ago, died the most esteemed artist that Croatia ever had - Ivan Mestrovic. Last chapter of his life he spent working as a professor at Notre Dame University, South Bend, Indiana - USA. He left our “old continent” many decades before to avoid strict regimes that floated over Europe during the WWII. He gave his precious work of art to Croatian people with a thought that all we do as a humans needs to be put in service for many generations and the centuries to come, as timeless cultural legacy.
These 3 art peaces:
“Girl with a lute”, Rome 1918.
“Gregory of Nin”, Split 1929.
“Marko Marulic”, Split 1924
represent exquisite forms of his outstanding work.
