It was in 1966 when the Ruler of Abu Dhabi, HH Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan realized the importance to unite the emirates.
It was in 1968 when Britain decided to remove itself from the area of today's UAE.

The same year, two visioners - Sheikh Zayed and Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum met at Al Samha, near the south-western boundary of Dubai and Abu Dhabi, under a tent and surrounded by desert, in presence of today's Dubai Sheikh Mohammed, and made their vision come true...

On 2 December 1971, 6 Emirates were united, on 10 February the 7th - Ras Al Khaimah joined and the new state was born
