Many of our guests are really surprised when they walk through our front door and feel special vibe, or sit in the garden for the first time and hear just birds, waves, whistlers, feel the scents of plants in the garden and around, wakes up in the morning, hear silence.
As some of you can't see and imagine our really special location at the tourist platforms like Booking and similar, location which is really unique, residential, location with history and completely different from the other accomodation at the island, here is a story about this part of Mali Lošinj - Čikat and explanation why our house have this facade colour. 😊 It's simple. We follow the tradition of aristocratic villas in the area, in this part of Lošinj, more precisely on Čikat in the Čikat forest park and beach Slatina in the Golden bay - 25 steps from the house.
Our location has another advantage, which is distance from noise and is the only inhabited house in the entire bay. Close to the town center Mali Lošinj, on foot (20 minutes), by bike (10 minutes) or 4 minutes by car. Also, in front of the house it is possible to anchor your boat for free and we are the first bay to the city and gas station.

Čikat - west side of island Lošinj is scented park-forest by the sea, here are the most luxurious villas on the island - with simple modern façade that blend with the environment in a stylish manner, designed in 1912 by a reputable Viennese architect Alfred Keller.

Viennese doctor Leopold Schrötter ( our street has its name) has 1892. declared Lošinj and the Čikat forest park as a climatic health resort for recovery after operations, suffering from asthma, allergies, stress and lung diseases. Welcome 😊

Veli Lošinj, just 3 km from our house, a place inhabited since the end of the 14th century, originally inhabited by 12 Croatian families in the area of today's church of St.Nicholas.
As Mali Lošinj, its known for its air, spa tourism, which was first mentioned in old books, and after research by the Austro-Hungarian monarchy, health benefits in purifying the respiratory tract and asthma were discovered, and the Austro-Hungarian monarchy came to Lošinj for treatments.

When we communicate with our guests at their departure or during their stay, we always ask them what are the most important things when they are looking for accommodation and why are they coming back to us? Some of them are already 5 years, some of them twice in a year 🙂 We are the kind of hosts who really like to hear guests suggestions but also a critic. 95% of our guests said:

1. Exclusive part of Mali Lošinj with most beautiful nature as is healthy Park forest Čikat ( SPA for lung diseases, asthma and allergies ) 300 different kind of plants and herbs, late amazing sunsets ( south west side of the island ) very close to the beach with crystal sea without noise and to many people with the natural shadow, not just the sea as in other parts of the island or city centre. Many of our guests have their own boats and small yachts so the possibility for a free boat mooring 25 m from the house is very important for them.
2. Free parking on site for 2 vehicles and possibility to go to the supermarket, city and restaurants with owner bicycles or just walk. Whole holidays without car and stress.
3. Perfect cleanliness in interior but also in the big garden and terraces.
4. Big fridge with freezer, WiFi, electric oven, hob, dishwasher, wash machine comfortable beds and pillows.
5. Fenced garden with garden shower , barbecue and very noisy location.
6. Covered terrace and the part of the garden because 90% of the time they are out of the interior when it is sunny and when is rainy.
7. Owners who give them recommendations concerning island attractions, local food, hiking & bicycle maps and stay in touch after departure.
8. Real island house with a mix of tradition and modern, large garden with Mediterranean plants and herbs not so many furniture, light colours in interior and authentic island feeling, not city feeling with the big wardrobes, to many furniture and city feeling.
9. Owners at arrivals , not agency or just keys with the code.
10. Scents of real nature, sounds of sea, whistlers and birds in the garden and bedrooms.

We are proud and happy 😊 to host such type of guests, guests who like to talk about everything, give us ideas and critics, guests who like full privacy but always open for talk even V.I.P. guests.

True, we are also at Čikat, in Park forest Čikat just few minutes walk from those Villas in article. In forest with more than 100 types of Mediterranean herbs that have long been recognized as plants that treat asthma, stress, allergies and recover people after surgical procedures and staying in cities full of smog.
The Viennese doctor Leopold Schrotter, after whom our street and promenade got its name 😊, was the first to declare the island of Lošinj and the Čikat forest a health resort at the end of the 19th century.

Just to let you know when you're looking for seaside accommodation with pools or whirlpool bath which are full of chemistry against bacteria and similar, specially in apartments and private houses, not public pools. 🤮 Swimming in chemistry? No way.

For all guests who come to us for the first time ‼️ In order to get to the island Lošinj, you have to cross the island of Krk, which is connected to the mainland by a bridge ( free of charge ), and follow the direction to the small town Valbiska, which is the ferry port. The ferry to Cres ( town: Merag ) leaves every hour, and more often from 15. June and when it's crowded. The ride takes 25 minutes and there is never a traffic stop because the route is excellently protected from the wind. When you get off the ferry, another 60 km drive awaits you on a new, wide road and stunning views.
🔵 If you are coming from the direction of Istria, there is another ferry port Brestova ( Istria ) - Porozina ( Cres ), but there are more frequent interruptions of traffic on that line due to its location and frequent winds, and the road across Cres has not yet been fully renovated along its entire length. It is passable, narrow and drives very slowly, but next year it will be renovated in its entire length. 🙂 More info and a sailing schedule: jadrolinija.hr/en/travels
