Lake Balaton - In summer Balaton is crowded, but the town become peaceful and romantic in winter.

Lillafüred - The area of the Bükk Hills has much to show you in winter. Don't miss the St. Stephen Dripstone Cave and a lovely walk in the forest.

Lake Tisza - Here is the largest adventure park in the country, and the riverside (especially when the river is frozen) has a beautiful sight.

Egerszalók - The Bath of Egerszalók is a good choice to relax in the winter and the historical city of Eger is very close to it. So whenever you want to move out the city of Eger has much to offer you.

Sárvár - is a very busy spa-spot in the country, but in the area you can find a couple of nice attractions as well.

Kecskemét (pronounced Ketch-keh-mate), a city of over 100,000 inhabitants in the western portion of the Great Hungarian Plain, has a decidedly small-town feel to it.

The castle of Diósgyőr in Hungary is a must see attraction as it was part of the national castle renewal programme, it was rebuilt recently. It got back its magnificent look truly. :)

One of the major national holiday's in Hungary is today.

October 23rd commemorates the Revolution of 1956, when Hungarians rose up against the Soviet ruled communist system.

Unfortunately the rising was unsuccessful, but it had a deep impact on the communist system in Hungary, some palliation has happened afterwards.

Since the regime change every year on this day throughout the country, there are many commemorations about what have happened under the rule of the Communist regime.

Martonvásár

The 19th-century Brunswick Palace at Martonvásár is one of
the best preserved stately homes in Hungary.

The present building is, in fact, a copy of an earlier Baroque construction, built for the Brunswick family in the late 18th century.

Hungary has a long history, which dates back more than 1000 years. So, it is not surprising that this rather small country has many ancient cities and towns that preserved some of its medieval features.

The city of Eger is in the TOP 5 tourist destinations with its castle (which is most famous for defending the country’s northern area when the ottoman turkish attack were common back in the 1500s) futhermore the city has a unique athmosphere with its cobblestoned streets and neat parks.
Eger now has a University too.
