Yesterday we walked with my guests in the Castle District, at Fishermen's Bastion ( Halaszbástya ).
Fisherman's Bastion is one of the best known monuments in Budapest, located near the Buda Castle, in the 1st district of Budapest. It is one of the most important tourist attractions due to the unique panorama of Budapest from the Neo-Romanesque lookout terraces. The Fishermen's Bastion's main façade, parallel to the Danube, is approximately 140 meters long, of which the southern aisle is about 40 meters long, the north is 65 meters long, and the ornate central parapet is 35 meters long. Its seven high-pitched stone towers symbolize the seven chieftains of the Hungarians who founded Hungary in 895.
The original walls were built in the 1700s, forming part of the walls of a castle. Several historians say that in the Middle Ages this part of the castle walls was protected by the guild of fishermen (halász), who lived under the walls in the so-called Fishtown or Watertown.[2][3] The current structure was built between 1895 and 1902,[1] in Neo-Romanesque style, on the base of a stretch of the Buda Castle walls, by architect Frigyes Schulek,[2] who was also responsible for the restoration of the Matthias Church.
Since 1987 it has been one of Budapest's World Heritage Sites as part of the Várkerület District (Buda Castle District). ( source: wikipedia )
Budapest vibes yesterday evening at Erzsébet tér Fröccsterasz. A Queen tribute band was playing very well. Do you know what "fröccs" is? Literarly it is "splash", but we drink it! ☝️. It is wine with sparkling water. Depending on the strength and proportion of wine / water we gave it different fantasy names. Like "sport fröccs" ( I usually take this in summer time ) = 1 dl rosé wine + 4 dl sparkling mineral / soda water. Házmester = 3 dl wine + 2 dl soda. More "fröccs" types are in the comment.
Budapest is on fire! Euro League final Sevilla-Roma for football fans, and Pantera concert for rock fans.
On weekends cyclists and pedestrians take over the lower embankment of the Pest side from the cars in Budapest.
Some tips from a tiktoker when visiting Budapest
Random jazz-rock concert in Budapest downtown at a children's playground. Such summer programmes makes Budapest a sexy place. The Hungarian band is called "Bujdoso Trio", find them on spotify and youtube. You will have no language barriers, since they have no singer, all of their songs are instrumental. Ejnoy!
Great summer evening programmes free of charge in Orczy Kert. www.orczysummerchill.hu only 15 minutes from Opera Residence by M3 metro ( Nagyvárad tér station )

A few days ago we were riding on bicycle to Vác ( stunning little town by the river Danube 25 kms from Budapest downtown ) with my family. We discovered a cuteittle bar with live music.
People from 🇨🇿,🇸🇰,🇷🇺,🇺🇦,🇲🇨 might know this Hungarian band and song back from the '70s and '80, as the original song was written in '69 and the band was touring around Europe at that time. This song was even played and released in many languages like 🇬🇧🇨🇿🇷🇺🇵🇱.
If you know it, please write band name and title of the song as well as your memories on how and when did you know this song in comments. Rules: no Shazam, no Hungarian players this time 😄 ( for them it's too easy, everybody knows this song in 🇭🇺 )
