There is a lonely bench on an off-the-beaten path on our hike. When it was put there a long-long time ago, there was a beautiful view on the city from this place. But you can't stop nature, so the panorama is now blocked by trees and bushes, so the bench is now only for resting.
Trees just started to drop their leaves, and the trail lookes like a colourful carpet, leading to the bench.

Today is the Day of the National Blue Trail, aka. 'Kéktúrázás napja' in Hungary. I wish every hiker a great day, who is doing a section of the blue trail today!
I already finished the 'kéktúra' this year in May, this photo was taken on the last section. The trail marker was painted on the road leading to the Castle of Füzér.

A young smooth snake enjoying the last sunny autumn days. 🐍
We saw it on one of our hikes in Budapest. There was nothing to be afraid of, as it is completely harmless. There are only a few venomous species in Hungary, but they are so rare, you most probably won't meet them.

It took 8 years, but finally I finished the National Blue Trail (aka. Országos Kéktúra)! 💙🇭🇺

It has been a loooong journey, 1172 km, amazing places, memorable experiences, nature at its finest, it is not easy to describe it with just a few words. If you want to see the true side of Hungary, just start it! 😊

Grapes on an oak tree? 🍇🌳🤔❓
How is that even possible? Well, these small green balls are not grapes, but galls! The little gall wasps lay their eggs on the buds and leaves of oak trees, and the eggs modify the growth of the tree, so they develop a gall which protects the larva of the wasp. A true miracle of nature indeed!
