Ubud Market has existed since ancient times, along with the construction of the Ubud Palace. It was around the 1800s, since Ida Tjokorda Kandel was the King of Ubud at that time. For the welfare of the people around Ubud, the Ubud Market was built. In the past, the system used was a barter system, and since getting to know currency, the payment system in this market uses currency as the transaction value. And since the first wave of tourists brought by Tjokorda Agung Sukawati to visit the village of Ubud, this Ubud market has grown from initially selling household necessities to selling various handicrafts for tourists, but the function of this market is still what it was originally.

The Ubud Art Market should be on your list of the best things to do in Ubud. Located in the center of Ubud, the traditional Ubud market offers tourists the best shopping experience. The beauty of Ijen Crater has been recognized across the world. In March 2016, this magical lake has been included in UNESCO’s World Biosphere Reserves. When you arrived here after walking through a road surrounded by lush greeneries, a refreshing chill breeze will greet you right away. The air around Ijen Crater normally will reach about 10 degrees celsius daily. Sometimes, it might even hit 2 degrees celsius. In the day, the mesmerizing sight of sunlight radiating a turquoise lake enveloped with smokes will give you an everlasting impression. Several small vents can be found surrounding the crater. They are a source of work for sulfur miners, making their way up and down from the crater and down to the lake each and every day. At dawn, you can have a chance to witness an incredible natural phenomenon where blue-tinted flames will appear around the crater. Known by many as the Blue Fire, this phenomenon usually occurs around 05:00 AM.

The Ijen Plateau can be reached through Bondowoso from either the northern or the southern coast. It is closer also to Banyuwangi. Most people walk the last 8 km (from about 64 km) along the road to Paltuding Post (the PHPA Post, the starting point, or the trek to the crater) from Bondowoso. Once you’ve arrived at Paltuding Post, you can trek your way up to the edge of the Ijen crater caldera through a 3 km long route.

However, if you need transport from Bali to Banyuwangi or Bondowoso, .bali.guide would be happy to assist you!

If you are looking for a completely different holiday, then you should head north to Bali’s Lovina Beach. Situated some 9 Km from Singaraja, capital city of the Buleleng Regency, Lovina Beach facing the Bali Sea is the perfect definition of tranquility, where one can enjoy the true meaning of a laid back and relaxed life.

Unlike other white-sand beaches on Bali, Lovina beach is of grey and black volcanic sand. Just as the nearby Pemuteran Beach, Lovina also features incredible underwater life to plunge in for those who enjoy diving and snorkeling. But, the main attraction here are the bottle-nosed dolphins which have made this coast their playground.

Dolphins normally appear early in the morning just when the first rays of the sun rise on the horizon. These incredibly smart creatures will come and swim near boats and cavort around creating a truly fascinating spectacle of nature. This amazing attraction can be viewed from traditional boats called “Jukung” that are offered by many operators or individuals on shore. Make sure you visit Lovina Beach with .bali.guide, our guide would be happy to assist you there.

Tirta Empul temple (Pura Tirta Empul) is a Hindu Balinese water temple located near the town of Tampaksiring, Bali, Indonesia. The temple compound consists of a petirtaan or bathing structure, famous for its holy spring water, where Balinese Hindus go to for ritual purification.

Tirta Empul Temple was founded around a large water spring in 962 A.D. during the Warmadewa dynasty (10th-14th centuries). The name of the temple comes from the ground water source named "Tirta Empul". The spring is the source of the Pakerisan river.[2] The temple is divided into three sections: Jaba Pura (front yard), Jaba Tengah (central yard) and Jeroan (inner yard). Jaba Tengah contains 2 pools with 30 showers which are named accordingly: Pengelukatan, Pebersihan and Sudamala dan Pancuran Cetik (poison).

30/08/2022

The Indonesian Island of Padar lies within Komodo National Park and is located about 30km (20 miles) from Labuan Bajo, a small fishing town on the westernmost part of Flores in East Nusa Tenggara.

Padar is small, but is the third largest island of Komodo National Park, and was once a home for the immense dragons that gave the reserve its name.

When you visit in the rainy season, the hills will be covered by grass and they will look green and blue creating a beautiful landscape. It is going to be totally different if you come in the dry season because the hills will be so dry that the green view turns into a sandy one, like a beautiful savana.

It is all surrounded by three turquoise bays, and curiously, each one of the bays’ beaches has different coloured sand: One is pearly white, another charcoal black, and a third is a very rare baby pink. It is a rare combination, a quirk of this unique island.

A tour of the Komodo islands wouldn’t be complete without doing this trek!

Hidden between rocks, Tukad Cepung Waterfall is definitely one of the most unique spots in Bali. It is famous for rays of sunlight that shine straight through the top of the falls, which feels as though it is projected right up to you.

Located in the eastern part of Bali in Tembuku, it takes around 45 minutes to get there from Ubud.

The best time to beat the crowds and maybe even get the place to yourself is right at sunrise.

The trail is made up of concrete stairs. It only takes about 10-15 minutes to walk from the ticket office down to the falls. It’s easy and therefore a great little hike for families as well.

Even though Goa Gajah translates to ‘Elephant Cave’, you won’t find any pachyderms here.

The leading theory suggests that Goa Gajah was used as a hermitage or sanctuary by Hindu priests who dug the cave entirely by hand. One folklore relates that it was created by the fingernail of the legendary giant Kebo Iwa. Although accredited as a sacred Hindu site, a number of relics and the close proximity of a Buddhist temple suggest that the site held special significance to early Buddhists in Bali.

The cave was rediscovered by Dutch archaeologists in 1923, but the fountains and bathing pool were not discovered until 1954.

This cave definitely must be included in your Bali trip!
