Mount Agung, the highest volcano in Bali (3,031 meters), offers one of the most challenging and rewarding hikes on the island. The hike is known for its steep and demanding ascent, but the sunrise view from the summit is breathtaking, with panoramic views of Bali, Lombok, and beyond.

Pura Besakih Route (More challenging, 6-8 hours ascent)
Starts from the Besakih Temple (1,100 meters)
Higher chance of reaching the true summit
Very steep and physically demanding
Things to Prepare
Guide: Highly recommended for safety and navigation.
Clothing: Warm layers, windproof jacket, gloves, and hat.
Shoes: Good hiking boots with grip.
Gear: Headlamp, trekking poles, and extra batteries.
Food & Water: At least 2-3 liters of water, energy bars, and snacks.
