Luxury 4 Bedroom Villa in Pererenan, Canggu Bali

This is the famous Koh Maya, 30 mins from our beach houses in Krabi. "The Beach" was known to the world because of Leonardo Di Caprio and the movie, and has since been rather too popular by its own beauty. Easy to see why!

It's still however an inspiration for people all over the world including Thais to visit our Andaman coast.

I would take our houseguests to visit the island privately, and at the times when the mass crowds have gone or not yet arrived. Given the close proximity with only a short ride from where we are, most visitors from Phuket would need 2-3 hours to get there, I reckon we can beat the crowds!

And we would also move on to so many other islands such as this around Krabi Marine Park that are relatively quiet or even inhabited.

Puri Saren is an Ubud Royal Palace situated in the heart of Ubud Village and appointed as a tourist destination which is many visited by tourists every day. Ida Tjkorda Putu Kande is the founder of Ubud Kingdom who led the kingdom from 1800 – 1823. This palace is a center of art and cultures while the market which is just in front of it as a center of local community’s economy. The existence of this place as king’s palace completed by a Wantilan (a big traditional building/hall for meeting venue) and a shady banyan tree as shelter during the day. The existence of market as a center of social economy is always set side by side with the palace as a center of art and culture life. It is meaning that the meeting of two poles reflects to the dynamic of local community’s life and for the king at that time can be used to assess the success of the improvement for art, cultures and local community’s economy.

The Mother Temple of Besakih, or Pura Besakih, in the village of Besakih on the slopes of Mount Agung in eastern Bali, Indonesia, is the most important, the largest and holiest temple of Hindu religion in Bali, and one of a series of Balinese temples. Perched nearly 1000 meters up the side of Gunung Agung, it is an extensive complex of 23 separate but related temples with the largest and most important being Pura Penataran Agung. This is built on six levels, terraced up the slope. This entrance is an imposing Candi Bentar (split gateway), and beyond it the even more impressive Kori Agung is the gateway to the second courtyard
Each year there are at least seventy festivals held at the complex, since almost every shrine celebrates a yearly anniversary. This cycle is based on the 210-day Balinese calendar year.
It had been nominated as a World Heritage Site as early as 1995, but remains unvested.
Visitors to this temple should exercise caution as there is a syndicate operating in and around the premise of this temple. They target tourists by offering a compulsory "tour guide" at exorbitant charges. They also perform "prayers" and request for tips at the end of the "tour". Visitors who decline their "services" are dealt with rather aggressively.

Ngaben, or Cremation Ceremony, is a funeral ritual performed in Bali to send the deceased to the next life. The body of the deceased will be placed as if sleeping, and the family will continue to treat the deceased as sleeping. No tears are shed, because the deceased is only temporarily absent and will reincarnate or find final rest in Moksha (freeing from the reincarnation and death cycle).
The proper day of the ceremony is always a matter of consulting a specialist on ceremony days. On the day of the ceremony, the body of the deceased is placed inside a coffin. This coffin is placed inside a sarcophagus resembling a buffalo (Lembu) or in a temple structure (Wadah) made of papier-maché and wood. This sarcophagus is then borne to the cremation site in a procession, which is almost never walked in a straight line. This is done to confuse evil spirits and keep them away from the deceased. The climax of a Ngaben is the burning of the sarcophagus containing the body of the deceased. The fire is viewed as necessary to free the spirit from the body and enable reincarnation.
