Incoming Bali furniture info
If you live in a drier climate you need to read this ⬇️

Most of the furniture you see in Bali is not kiln dried

It's either left outside in the sun ☀️ or it's dried over a small open fire

This leaves lots of moisture in the timber

So after a while, you'll find your furniture starts to split as it shrinks from less moisture in the air

We've got your back though as we only recommend furniture that has been kiln dried, meaning the moisture has already been taken out of the timber and you won't have the splitting problems

And just look at these designs! They are beautiful and honestly better in real life

They can also custom make something unique for you!!!!

Yes we're heading here on our Interior Decor Adventure where you can buy or custom order

Bali tip

Treat the Balinese and the culture respectfully

Wear coverings in temples
Speak kindly even if you feel harassed
Remember your manners
Don't shout or lose you're temper

The Balinese people live by Tri Hita Karana, harmony between humans, nature and the gods

We could learn a lot from the Balinese

Plan Ahead for Nyepi (Day of Silence) – Nyepi is Bali’s New Year based on the Balinese Saka calendar, and it’s one of the most unique cultural experiences you can witness. This year it falls on 29 March. However, it’s important to be prepared because the entire island shuts down for 24 hours—no flights, no transport, no shops, and even the beaches are closed.

Here’s how to make the most of it:
✔ Stock up on food, snacks, and essentials the day before, as restaurants and stores will be closed.
✔ Book a nice villa or hotel where you can relax, as you won’t be allowed to leave your accommodation.
✔ Enjoy the quiet! It’s a rare chance to experience complete stillness—perfect for reflection, reading, or even stargazing at night with minimal light pollution.

Bonus: The night before Nyepi, check out the Ogoh-Ogoh parades, where giant, colorful demon statues are carried through the streets before being burned to cleanse the island of bad spirits!

PSA

Don't forget to apply mozzie spray!

Bali tip

Always use mosquito repellent! And reapply often!

Dengue cases have risen dramatically in the last year, and dengue mozzies are active during the day. These tiny mozzies can barely be seen, but they pack a punch (and not in a good way)

Either take mozzie repellent with you, or buy it in Bali. Soffell brand is available at all minimarts, chemists and supermarkets. There are also natural mozzie repellents available ( I like Republic of Soap's Bu**er Off) at many organic skin care shops. Most hotels and villas supply mozzie coils, and at this time of the year, I have them on all the time. Plug in mozzie repellent can be bought at supermarkets and I use these in the bedroom at night. Lastly, I use insect spray every evening behind the curtains and in wardrobes, anywhere mozzies like to congregate!

Take precautions, and you'll bring home from Bali a suntan, lots of shopping, and fabulous memories

Scooters are a fun way to get around Bali, but safety first! 🚦 Always wear a helmet, have an international driver’s license, and check your travel insurance covers motorbikes. If you’re not confident riding, grab a GoJek or Grab bike instead—it’s cheap, easy, and stress-free! 🛵✨

Bali Travel Tip: 🌞 Pack light, but don’t forget a sarong!

A sarong is a must-have in Bali—it works as a temple cover-up, a beach towel, a scarf for chilly evenings, and even a makeshift picnic blanket. Plus, you can grab a beautiful one from a local market as a souvenir! 😉✨

Bali Travel Tip: 🚰 Stay hydrated—but not from the tap!

Bali’s tap water isn’t safe to drink, so stick to bottled or filtered water to avoid “Bali Belly.” Pro tip: Bring a reusable bottle and refill at trusted cafés or use a portable water filter for an eco-friendly option! 💦✨

When you're not on our tours, there are 2 apps that you need to download for almost everything you will need in Bali, and they are Grab and Gojek

You can book a ride on a bike or in a car, you can order groceries, medication for Bali Belly, alcohol 🍷 and breakfast, lunch or dinner 🍽️ . I have even had documents delivered to me 🛵 🤩 😮

I have my credit card details stored in the app so I don't have to worry about any small $$$ AND you can even tip via the app too 👍🏻

They are very similar to each other but I tend to use Grab more often as the restaurants I like to eat from are more often found on Grab

What's the weirder thing you've had delivered in Bali?

Our Story

I have been travelling to Bali for over 30 years and have been working in travel for almost as long. I travel to Bali at least twice a year often it’s way more than that. I love the feeling of coming home the minute I step off the plane in Bali.

The island of the gods is always evolving and is now the go to place for beautiful homewares, the coolest beach clubs and michelin-worthy food. It has come a long way from is beginnings as a surfer hangout to now the hippest island around.

Let me show you why Bali is the best place to go.

I look forward to meeting you
