Ulun Danu Beratan Temple, is a famous Hindu Temple that is located on the shores of Lake Beratan, Bedugul.
This temple is one of the most iconic and picturesque temples in Bali that is situated at an altitude of around 1,200 meters above sea level.

The temple is dedicated to Dewi Danu (the goddes of water, lakes and rivers, who is highly revered Balinese Hinduism.

Ulun Danu Beratan plays a vital role in religious practices related to agriculture, as Lake Beratan is a major source of water for irrigation in Bali. So the temple serves as a place for locals to pray for fertility, bountiful harvests and balance in nature.

Ulun Danu Beratan Temple was built in 1633 by the King of Mengwi. Now mostly the temple is being busy by the visitors of various tourists from varies countries in everyday basis. Some frequent ceremonies are still conducted every years at this temple are: (Here are the big of all)

• Farmers and locals pray to Dewi Danu, giving offerings to ensure the water from Lake Beratan will continue to flow and provide for their crops.

3️⃣ MELASTI CEREMONY
• Melasti ceremony is a purification ritual conducted before Nyepi (Silent Day). During this ceremony, sacred statues and items from the temple are taken to the lake for cleansing.
