Catherine Palace is 25 km south-east of St. Petersburg in Tsarskoye Selo (Pushkin). Originally it was a residence of Catherine I. The famous reconstructed magnificent Amber Room is located in the palace too.

The Church of Savior on Spilled Blood is a must place to take picture with. Many were inspired by its grand shape and outstanding breath taking mosaic exterior and interior.

The belfry (tower) is decorated with mosaic coats-of-arms of cities and regions of the Russian empire. In the interior decoration the Italian marbles and different sorts of semi-precious Russian stones were used.

Midsummer Eve is a holiday celebrated across Nordic and Baltic countries. This year Midsummer starts on June, 24th. It is a time for bonfires and celebrations with music and dancing at countryside near rivers or lakes.

During Midsummer people decorate their houses and lands with rowan branches and thorns in order to protect themselves from evil. In modern days other traditional decorations are more popular, including birch or sometimes oak branches and flowers as well as leaves, especially ferns. Women wear wreaths made from flowers; in rural areas livestock is also decorated.

Some interesting facts that you probably didn't know about Estonia:

1. Many people think that Estonia was famous for inventing Skype only. However, there are plenty of Start-up like Teleport and TransferWise that are getting famous worldwide. Those start-up are not the only ones. There are about 400 start-up that boast the highest ratio of start-ups to population in Europe.
2. Estonia was the first country that introduced online political voting in the world.
3. Estonia is a very green country. Its forest area (already about 50%) is expanding while other countries decrease forests.
4. Estonians have invented their own sports – kiiking. It involves fastening yourself to a giant standing swing and making a 360 degree rotation.
5. Estonia has two independence days. The first one is February 24, when the country was pronounced independent, and the second one is August 20, when that independence was regained.
