Happy Silent Day Semeton ❤️🎉

Tomorrow we will celebrating Silent Day (Nyepi Day). For those who might experience this for the first time, here are some glimpse about Balinese Nyepi Day.

*What is Nyepi?
Nyepi comes from the word "sepi", which means silent (silent day). Today is Caka's new year which is believed to be the day of transition from old to new behaviour of life.

During Nyepi, Balinese people are required to observe four taboos called Catur Brata Penyepian
* Amati Karya (Not working)
* Amati Lelungan (Not travelling)
* Amati Geni (Not starting a fire)
* Amati Lelaungan (Not having fun)

*Why Nyepi?*
For 24 hours, all activities must be prohibited in Bali. There are a lot of benefits of Nyepi which inspire all people around the world.

*Benefits for yourself :
Since no one is allowed to do activities outside their homes. Nyepi is a perfect time for self-evaluation or to enjoy a day of contemplation in a quiet and peaceful setting.

*Benefits for Nature*
Another fun fact, This one day of silence reduces carbon dioxide emissions by 20,000 tons and reduces greenhouse gas emissions by 33 per cent, helping to reduce global air pollution. This is the result from zero activity of vehicles, and lights out.

*Nyepi Fun Fact*
There was no economic activity during Nyepi. Not even a Flight! Flight schedules are also suspended for 24 hours which can only happen in Bali.

Nyepi was also the inspiration for the United Nations to hold World Silent Day, which is celebrated every March 21. The activity is to stop using electricity and all activities for 4 hours.

Manfaat untuk Diri Sendiri
Tidak ada yang boleh beraktivitas di luar rumah, Nyepi cocok jadi hari untuk evaluasi diri. Nikmatilah satu hari untuk merenung dalam suasana yang hening dan damai.

Manfaat untuk Alam
Semua orang di Bali berdiam diri di rumah. Tidak ada kendaraan dan seluruh lampu dipadamkan. Hari Raya Nyepi mengurangi emisi karbon dioksida sebesar 20.000 ton serta mengurangi emisi gas rumah kaca sebesar 33 persen, sehingga membantu mengurangi polusi udara dunia.

Fun Fact Nyepi
