"Buda Cemeng Klau or
Buda Wage Klau is a special day when the Balinese Hindus worship Lord (Bhatara) Rambut Sedana with His consort, Bhatari Laksmi, who bestow prosperity and wealth. Bhatara Rambut Sedana is another name of Lord Wisnu who has golden hairs on his chest, where Goddess Laksmi resides. Therefore, Lord Wisnu is also known as Bhatara Rambut Sedana (He whose hair is a shelter for wealth personified).

According to Balinese custom, on this day people are prohibited to use money other than buying physical things, for example to pay debts or to save money in the bank.
It is believed that if people disobey this rule, the mony will be lost due to man’s greed.

BA Rahina Buda Cemeng Klau utawi Buda Wage Klau inggih punika rahina ritatkala kramane ngamuja Bhatara Rambut Sedana lan Bhatari Laksmi sane mapaica kasukertan lan karahajengan. Hari Buda Cemeng Klau atau biasanya juga disebut dengan Buda Wage Klau merupakan hari pemujaan terhadap Bhatara Rambut Sedana dan Dewi Laksmi yang melimpahkan kemakmuran dan kesejahteraan. Bhatara Rambut Sedana adalah nama lain dari Bhatara Wisnu yang memiliki rambut halus berwarna kemasan di dada-Nya. Rambut halus ini disebut Sriwatsa dan merupakan tempat bersemayamnya Bhatari Laksmi. Karena itulah Bhatara Wisnu juga disebut Bhatara Rambut Sedana. Menurut adat istiadat umat Hindu di Bali, pada hari ini orang-orang tidak diperbolehkan menggunakan uang untuk hal-hal yang sifatnya tidak kembali berupa wujud barang, misalnya membayar utang atau menabung, karena dipercaya uang tersebut nantinya tidak dapat kembali selamanya dan menghilang oleh sifat serakah manusia.

ALL MY ANIMALS..... 🐕🐕🐕

This was the other day taking a break after Suzi and Robert left.
Not sure how I ended up with all these animals as when I arrived here in Bali in Feb 2013 with Toby dog from England I said I did not want anymore pets!!!!!
Strangely, it did not quite work out that way.
There are now 3 dogs here and one more to feed which was dumped off in the garden but we threw it out and it moved into the warung next door. It needs feeding. There is another cat as well which does not feature here.
There were many others in between.

I wish for no more!!!!!!!

Well we had many more since then but these 3 have died in the meantime 😞.
No more cats now.
But we love them all once they are there.

THE SECRET LIFE OF BEES 🐝

Wayan Alit found some bees today. So we watched them for a bit.

These are very small, local bees:
Apis florea https://g.co/kgs/VzWhZD

Kelenceng = Indonesian name
Klanceng = Indonesian name
Kele Kele = Balinese name

"The dwarf honey bee (or red dwarf honey bee), Apis florea, is one of two species of small, wild honey bees of southern and southeastern Asia. It has a much wider distribution than its sister species, Apis andreniformis. First identified in the late 18th century, Apis florea is unique for its morphology, foraging behavior and defensive mechanisms like making a piping noise."

They are kept normally in small boxes.
I have seen them in
Tenganan Old Aga Village near
Candidasa, Karangasem before.
