Barong and the Kris Dance

The wondrous island of Bali is not only blessed with fascinating beaches and outstanding landscapes, but it also has an amazing traditional culture that remains well preserved, highlighting the daily life of its people.

The Barong Dance is among the many art forms closely associated with spirituality, it is often performed in ritual ceremonies. Portraying the classic battle of “Good vs. Evil”, the dance is one of the most well-known and loved on the island.

Barong dance In Balinese mythology, Barong is a prominent character taken the form of a lion, regarded as the King of the Spirits who represents Virtue. Barong is seen as ‘a guardian angel’.
Opposing Good is represented by another mythical creature called Rangda ( the Queen of Demons).

Rangda leads an army of evil witches against the leader of the forces of Good. As a mirror of life, the Barong Dance portrays the two characters involved in a never-ending battle.

Batuan Temple, referred to locally as Pura Puseh Lan Pura Desa Adat Batuan, is a focal landmark in the namesake village of Batuan that’s famous for its traditional Balinese paintings.

Up the 5-tiered candi bentar gate of Batuan Temple, you’ll come across various reliefs depicting mythical Balinese figures and floral themes, as well as statues depicting the Hindu trinity: Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva, further inside. A series of multi-tiered thatched-roof shrines within the temple’s inner courtyard is arranged in a layout typical of all large temple complexes in Bali.

MOUNT BATUR SUNRISE TREKKING

Get ready for amazing experience trekking on this active volcano, Here you will see the beautiful view of an active Mount Batur ( 1717 m ).

We will pick you up at your hotel at 1.00 am – 2.30 am in the morning depending on hotel area, then we will drive go stright to starting point in the volcano foot.
The trek will need 1.5 to 2 hours to climb the mountain till first peaks, our professional local guide will accompany you during the trekk.
The slope of the volcano is covered by black lava which is continue deep into the caldera. From the top of the mountain you will witness an amazing sunrise and Batur lake. While waiting for the sunrise, we will be serve a volcano breakfast with our guide, here the local guide will cook a special breakfast, the egg cooked in the lava fissure which will be your special breakfast ever, once you have your breakfast. When everything done at top , we will continue the journey back to finish point where the Driver waiting for you (approximately 8.00 am t0 9.00 am).

Taman Soekasada Ujung Water Palace

Beautiful hidden place, which you may not have heard of. It is a special place for kings in Tumbu Village, Karangasem District.

This beautiful place is called Taman Soekasada or known as Taman Ujung, which was built around 1901, by the King of Karangasem named I Gusti Bagus Jelantik who has the title of Agung Anglurah Ketut Karangasem.

In 1909, the king of Karangasem ordered a Dutch architect, named Van Den Hentz and a Chinese architect, named Loto Ang, to develop the Dirah pond, which became the resting place for the King of Karangasem. The construction of the Ujung Soekasada park was completed in 1921.
