Ayo Ikuti Acara Adat Syukur Tahunan (Penti) Wae Rebo 14-17 November 2022

Penti adalah salah satu upacara adat Manggarai untuk mengungkapkan rasa syukur. Selain itu, ini juga menjadi acara Tahun Baru. Bulan November adalah awal bulan dalam siklus perhitungan masyarakat Wae Rebo.

Bulan ini disebut juga bulan awal bertanam. Karena masyarakat Wae Rebo mayoritas adalah petani, maka bulan awal tanam dijadikan pertanda awal yang baru.

Upacara adat Penti ini menjadi daya tarik tersendiri untuk di suguhkan ke traveler datang pada pertengahan Bulan November. Upacara Adat Penti di Wae Rebo, Flores tidak hanya menarik dilihat, namun juga menyimpan makna luhur soal rasa bersyukur.

Upacara Penti merupakan ritual sebagai ungkapan rasa syukur atas panen, serta kehidupan, yang telah dilalui selama satu tahun terakhir. Upacara ini juga sebagai ungkapan mohon perlindungan serta keharmonisan untuk kehidupan yang akan datang.

Upacara Penti biasanya dilakukan saat dimulainya kegiatan bercocok tanam atau berladang. Kegiatan ini adalah kewajiban turun-temurun, yang harus dijalankan sebagai wahana rasa syukur, berkumpulnya keluarga besar, serta pemberkatan terhadap kelestarian alam sekitar.

Upacara Penti dilaksanakan setiap November. Biasanya upacara ini biasanya jatuh pada pertengahan bulan tersebut dan diisi dengan upacara adat, pemberkatan, serta atraksi budaya yang sangat unik.
