Hi all,

I trust you have had a great Easter 2015.

As you know, North Bali is a great location for SCUBA diving with some beautiful locations for all standards of divers.

We are seeking your feedback as we are gathering together information so we can provide an excellent package, whereby people can stay in our villa/s for five nights and also do their PADI Open Water diving qualification during their stay.

What a great holiday. enjoy some fantastic scenery and dive locations while qualifying for your SCUBA ticket. We are in discussions with a couple of dive operaters who can do the whole thing, including brief lectures in a classroom, followed by some excellent diving on sites such as Menjangan Island and the Tulamben shipwreck.

So, what do you think? Do you know any friends who want to get their SCUBA ticket, while also enjoying a fantastic luxury North Bali holiday. Please pass this on to anyone you think might be interested and let us know any thoughts or ideas.

Hi fellow Earthlings,

It's currently the quiet season up here in Bali, but the weather is beautiful, even if it is the Monsoon. All the Monsoon means is that is usually (not always) rains heavily for about an hour late in the afternoon. The rest of the time the weather is sunny and mellow.

Most villas, like ours, offer special discounted rental deals for the quiet season, so, if you've thought about a great holiday in Bali but need to watch the budget, booking a quiet season holiday, even during the Monsoon, is a good strategy.

Anyway, I remain fascinated with Bali's beautiful flowers - the colours are amazing. When I did a post a while ago, of Lotus, which is Indonesia's national flower, 430 people opened it. So here is some more beautiful flowers. I'm not sure of their names, but we found some of them while trekking through a volcanic jungle.

I 'm hoping to break the 430 openings record - so take a look :-)

It's always good to get positive feedback from guests about staying in our villas.

"Villa Sartori is a great place to stay. The views of the sea and the mountains are amazing. The villa is so beautiful furnished and decorated. The staff is friendly and helpful. Our grandsons enjoyed to play games in the TV room and to swim in the pool. We enjoyed the peace, the nature , the luxury of the villa and the fine food. There is a lot to see and to do in the neighbourhood. For the children the Tree top park, the water park and the dolphin show were the highlights. We enjoyed the walk around lake Tamblingan, the paddling to the village , the lunch in the” Terasse du Lac” and the restaurants in Lovina . The childrens dance with Jimmy Hendricks in Lovina was also worth a visit. We felt really spoiled in every way."

As you can see, there are many interesting things to do in North Bali and it's well worth a visit.

GROUP BOOKINGS - THE OPEN SECRET FOR TOP HOLIDAY VALUE

Hi all and happy Australia Day to my fellow citizens,

One of travelling's open secrets is the amazing value you can get by group bookings of accommodation. If you've not considered booking, for example, a luxury Bali villa, many can sleep 6-8 people, sometimes more and they can big, spacious and private too.
If you can gather some friends or family together, you could cash in on the economy of numbers. You could rent a luxury seafront or mountainside villa - check out www.balidelux.com - for about US$40 per head, per night, way cheaper than a good hotel.

"We enjoyed our stay at the Bali Bliss. It was remote, quiet, clean and luxurious. More than enough space to spread out if traveling with a large group. I loved that each bedroom had it's own bathroom. The views are amazing. The ocean breezes were wonderful. Having the ocean so close you can get splashed by the waves standing in the yard made me feel like I didn't need to travel any further than my own backyard. If you are expecting to be close to restaurants and other tourist attractions, this is not the place for you. But if you are looking to relax and enjoy peace and quiet on Bali's north side, it is perfect!"

The peak 'dry' season for Bali is from August to November, but the wether during the 'west' is usually still pretty fantastic. It only rains about an hour each day but the rest of the time is great for holidaying. Hi Everyone and may you enjoy a wonderful Xmas 2014 and New Year 2015,

One of the many relatively unknown features of beautiful North Bali- where we have our two luxury villas - www.balidelux.com - for holiday rent - is the world-class SCUBA diving and snorkelling spots close by.

One of my Australia friends tells me they are 'better than the Barrier Reef' but not having been to the Reef, I wouldn't know, but it's pretty high praise. I've been snorkelling in North Bali and that is fantastic. Anyway, if you know anyone who likes SCUB and snorkelling, please feel free to forward them this post.

Hi everyone and the best of Xmas and New Year to all.

One of the many things that impress me about Indonesia and Bali, in particular, is the extraordinary beauty of the local vegetation and the amazing craftsmanship of the locals. The water lillies are immaculate and some of the woodwork and door paintings and carvings, are works of art.

Even just the varigated leaves of some of the Indonesian plants are a joy to behold.

Sometimes it's the small things in life that are worth noticing and celebrating.

Hello lovers of natural beauty and the environment.

People who never rise early enough to see the dawn often miss out on some spectacular beauty. This is certainly so at Bali Villa Sartori (North Bali). Here are a couple of photos showing amazing dawns that I watched from the villa balcony.

Dawn is a perpetual reminder of beginnings, of optimism, beauty and hope. And the colours are very difficult for even artists to replicate. Good advice to anyone is to stop to smell the flowers and rise to greet the dawn.

May the blossoms of good luck inhabit your world long before you leave it.

"Having sworn off ever returning to Bali, we took the plunge and stayed at Bali Bliss. What a wonderful surprise.

The villa was pretty remote (over half an hour from Singaraja), that was its beauty. You could step outside the villa and enjoy the environment without anyone hassling you. Wander through paddy fields and watch the cows being washed.

We decided to spend a day in the villa and the next visiting local highlights. Some of the highlights were the natural hot springs, waterfalls, snorkelling, visiting temples, feeding the monkeys and driving through the volcanoes.

The villa itself was spacious, clean and well equipped. Wayan and his team were always ready to help, give advice and were great with our kids. We had three generations in the house together without a problem. The best part was, we could put the kids to bed and sit outside watching the fishermen off the coast and listen to the waves crash on the shore. So peaceful.

Hello fellow travellers on life's journey,

One of the many things I love about Bali, and I'm mostly talking about North Bali here, is the beautiful natural features like waterfalls, hot springs, volcanos and mountain lakes. Close by to both our beautiful North Bali villas, is a vast range of natural features that you can visit and enjoy.

I love swimming in the hot springs which do wonders for my tricky back and also trekking to North Bali waterfalls where you can swim under the plummeting water, not to mention snorkeling amongst beautiful schools of fish, or paddling across a volcanic lake.

North Bali's natural treasures are often devoid of many tourists, but that's what makes them special. We like to think that renting our oceanfront and mountain villas brings new meaning to the term 'luxury eco-tourism'. You can be pampered in sumptuous accommodation, while also being nearby to North Bali's amazing nature.

Luxury living amidst spectacular natural highlights - that's my idea of a great holiday. What's yours?

Hello fellow members of the human race,

I've often thought that the natural beauty of each dawn - like this one from the balcony of our Bali mountain retreat, Bali Villa Sartori - is created to inspire us about the potential of the day to come. But maybe I'm a bit too romantic and emotional. Never-the-less, I defy anyone to view a dawn like this without thinking about what life is all about, where we come from and why we are here. Earth's beauty lives on, irrespective of any individual human's existence, but sometimes we are just too busy being busy to properly appreciate the world in which we live.

Hello fellow beings of thought and emotion,

In my experience, people either love, or hate, monkeys. There is very little grey area. North Bali is the home to many wild monkeys, struggling to exist as human endeavor increasingly encroaches on their environment.

In the monkey forest at Ubud, for example, the monkeys are very familiar with humans and take every opportunity to pick their pockets and steal their wallets - very bad monkey PR. Hence, many monkey haters are created from visitors to Ubud.

Go further north, however, and you will find other Bali monkeys not yet 'trained' by interaction with people. At Bedugul, about half way between Denpasar and Singaraja, there are troupes of monkeys who are very well behaved.

At temples further east of Lovina, there are peaceful monkeys who do not react much to humans. I remember standing at one temple, surrounded by more than 100 monkeys feeding, and they just accepted me as a very big relation. That's where I took this picture. When I look into monkeys' eyes, I see intelligence, but is that just me?

Our luxury mountain villa, Bali Villa Sartori (North Bali) is progressing well and is about 90% complete. The latest addition is a beautifully carved Javanese entry door which we purchased in Jogjakarta, Java. I stayed at the villa last night and got up early to take a shot of the beautiful dawn from the patio. In North Bali there is beauty all around and I am still surprised even after living here for more than three years.

Hi all, What amazes me about North Bali is that there are surprisingly beautiful views seemingly everywhere you look. Here is a photo I took just outside the front door of the Lovina Resort, where Louise and I spend a lot of our time. This wonderful environment is so spiritual and natural. If you think Bali is all about the south, with its out of control commercialisation and development, you should treat yourself to a trip to the North where you will discover the real, authentic, original Bali.

There are some wonderful treks (bushwalks, hikes) in North Bali, nearby to both the Bali Delux Villas.
Last weekend, Louise and I went on a guided four-hour trek around two volcanic lakes - Lake Buyan and Lake Tamblingan. It was like walking through Lord of the Rings Scenery, culminating in a canoe paddle across the crystal Lake Tamblingan surface - unforgettable. If you are in to eco-tourism, the environment and nature, you should consider a North Bali holiday.

We have some new pictures of our Bali Villa Sartori (North Bali) which is a luxury mountain retreat about 25 minutes up the mountains from the north Bali coastal tourist town of Lovina. Villa Sartori is like the polar opposite of Bali Bliss Villa, being 1,025 metres above sea level with breath-taking views of the ocean, teh coastal plain and the mountain valley.
