FLORES OVERLAND ADVENTURE is an amazing trip that gives you the opportunity to explore Flores Island from the east end to the west end. "Nusa Nipa" which means Snake Island was the original name of the island of Flores before the arrival of the Portuguese. The mystical snake has reincarnated into Flower Island, not in this sense! The ancestors of the famous footballer Louise Figo - El Real baptized Nusa Nipa as "Cabo da Flora", after they discovered the amazing natural beauty of the underwater world at the eastern end, precisely at Tanjung Bunga or “Cape of Flower”. By the Dutch the name Cabo da Flora was later changed to Flores, and the name "Flores" is officially used to this day. Indeed Beautiful, and that beauty is still there today!
The island of Flores, from the eastern tip to the west end with a length of 360 kilometers you will find a scene that is constantly changing; barren and gray hills, ravines flanking the river, coastal sea views undisturbed by a single island or group of islands, lush and green forests, rugged mountains and majestic cones. You will also find the people of Flores Island who are friendly and innocent as they are, with a variety of unique characteristics and cultural traditions from one district to another. This island is amazingly unique and beautiful!
This tour is specially designed for busy people, who don't have much time, but want to enjoy the trip as effectively and as fully as possible. Therefore, this tour seems a bit rushed and only visits famous tourist attractions, but still focuses on the essence of a memorable and enjoyable vacation. You will explore the island of Flores from Maumere to Labuan Bajo and will find various interesting and unique things that may not have existed in your life.
In short, the “Highlights of this Trip” include experiencing cultural diversity with multi-local languages, watching the art of making traditional hand-woven fabrics using hand-spun cotton threads and natural dyes known as "ikat textiles", exploring magnificent volcanic islands eg: Kelimutu three crater lakes each filled with water of different colors, mingling with local people, experiencing their way of life and sharing experiences, snorkeling the most pristine and deserted coral reefs with colorful fish, smell the aroma of roasted coffee, the smell of cloves, cashews, vanilla, hazelnut, nutmeg, pepper and many other spices....
