"BINTAN FIREFLIES TOUR"

The mangrove tour at night is very different with the afternoon mangrove tour because at night we can not see wild animals and all the trees on the river bank, and it's really dark. But this lack of light allows us to see creatures that glow in the dark fireflies. And not just one or two fireflies, but hundreds. They usually gather around mangrove trees which grow rather deep in mangrove forests and are far from the crowds of human activities. Our boat driver and tour guide had very sharp eyes and easily saw a swarm of fireflies from a distance. Once there is a tree that looks surrounded by lots of fireflies, we slow down the boat and try to get closer to the trees.
