Based on the contents of the Kehen B Temple inscription from 1049 AD, at that time, during the reign of King Anak Wungsu, Kehen Temple had a special function, namely a holy place which was used as a place of "oath-taking" for royal officials. In this ceremony, royal officials who are not loyal to their obligations will be subject to "Sapata" or a very scary curse, such as Hina, Papa, Family and their descendants are destroyed, always entangled in shame, misery and calamity, will not find any good.

The god who is worshiped in the swearing-in ceremony is Hyang Api or Hyang Kehen, namely Dewa Agni as a witness in the form of the God of Fire.

So that the function of Kehen Temple as a holy place in the swearing-in ceremony is supported by the existence of a vessel, which is entwined with four dragon snakes called "Sarpantaka Vessel". Until now the vessel is placed in a gedong-shaped building which is located to the east of Meru Overlapping 11 in the innards. The Sarpantaka vessel at the time of the swearing-in ceremony serves as a place for "Tirta Sarpantaka", namely the Holy Water of the Oath given to those who are sworn in.
