[Bunga Langit]

Bunga abadi ini sering kali jadi daya tarik tersendiri bagi orang-orang yang mendaki gunung khususnya di Indonesia. Bunga edelweis di Indonesia berbeda dengan bunga edelweis di dataran Eropa. Di Indonesia, edelweis dikenal juga dengan nama javanese edelweis atau edelweis jawa atau bunga senduro.

Bunga ini merupakan tumbuhan edemik yang tumbuh di daerah pegunungan. Beberapa gunung yang terkenal dengan bunga edelweisnya antara lain; Gunung Gede, Gunung Rinjani, dan Gunung Merbabu.

Keindahan dan kelangkaan keberadaan bunga langit ini menjadi alasan pemerintah Indonesia untuk melindungi flora endemik ini. Berdasarkan UU No.5 tahun 1990 Tentang Konsevasi Sumber Daya Hayati, Dan UU No.41 Tahun 1999 tentang perlindungan Flora dan Fauna, barang siapa yang mencabut, merusak atau mengambil dengan sengaja dengan tujuan pribadi hukumnnya bisa berupa pidana denda sebesar 50-100 juta Rupiah.
