IATA predicts slow recovery in aviation sector, govt should boost confidence | Published on : Wednesday, April 22, 2020

Considering the anticipated slow recovery in demand for air travel the International Air Transport Association has called for governments to work with the industry on confidence-boosting measures.

Alexandre de Juniac, IATA director general said that passenger confidence will suffer a double whammy even after the pandemic is contained – hit by personal economic concerns in the face of a looming recession on top of lingering concerns about the safety of travel.

Governments and industry must be quick and coordinated with confidence-boosting measures.

It was noted in an IATA-commissioned survey of recent travellers that some 60 per cent of travellers anticipate a return within one to two months of containment of the Covid-19 pandemic however 40 per cent indicate that they could wait six months or more.
It was indicated by more than two third of travellers that many would delay a return to travel until their personal financial situation stabilises.

Return-to-travel behaviour are seen in the domestic markets of China and Australia, where new coronavirus infection rates have fallen to very low levels.

After the rate of new Covid-19 infections in China fell into single digits China domestic demand began to recover.

From mid-February into the first week of March there was an early upswing and the number of domestic flights plateaued at just over 40 per cent of pre-COVID-19 levels.

While the actual demand is expected to be significantly weaker as load factors on these flights are reported to be low. China accounts for some 24 per cent of all domestic passengers.

PRIME INDONESIA TRAVEL BUREAU | KECAK FIRE DANCE AT ULUWATU TEMPLE BY THE SUNSET

The Kecak Fire Dance is one of Bali’s most iconic art performances, which takes place at a clifftop amphitheatre beside Uluwatu Temple offering impressive views of the Indian Ocean.
This sunset dance show features fire, and human vocals are used in place of gamelan instruments.

It is often included in tours to Garuda Wisnu Kencana Cultural Park (GWK) and Uluwatu Temple then after the show continue to enjoy the grilled seafood dinner at the beach side of Jimbaran Bay.

The performance is about Sri Rama, prince of the Ayodya kingdom, who was sent into exile by his father King Dasaratha following an evil trick by his stepmother Kaikeyi. Deep in a monkey forest, Rama is accompanied by his wife Sita and loyal younger brother Laksamana. The evil Rahwana, who had a crush on Sita, knew of this, and set out to kidnap her. The rescuing effort by the 2 brothers ensues with help from the monkey king Hanoman and his monkey troops. Rahwana eventually subdued, the 2 lovers are finally reunited right after the setting sun.

The Kecak Fire Dance show starts at sunset, usually around 6pm. A troupe of around 75 male dancers descend onto the stage with extended arms and shaking hands up in the air while chanting their fast-paced choruses repetitively. The prelude opens the 5 episodes taken from the Ramayana epic, as dancers in elaborate costumes artistically re-enact the tale with slower or faster tempos provided by the troupe complementing a scene of romance or suspense. The show ends when fire torches in the stage’s centre flicker against the darkened sky and the echoing chants subside.

Kelingking Beach View Point, Nusa Penida - BALI
Trip Advisor has just released the Travelers' Choice Awards 2019, and Kelingking Beach is is rank #2 from the top 25 best beaches in Asia and rank #19 from the top 25 best beaches in the World. This secluded and hidden beach itself is down a rugged 400m cliff-side hike, however the view of Kelingking is arguably more popular than the beach itself.
The viewpoint that is hard to believe that it's real, when you see it for the first time, and 100% guaranteed the most spectacular place you will have ever seen. The reason why Kelingking Beach is such a popular location is that the cliffs form the shape of a T-Rex (think Jurassic Park logo). And the head of a Tyrannosaurus Rex can be seen on the left of the bay and the body and tail wrap around to the right.
