Today is International Assistance Dog Day and we were delighted to have the lovely Oscar stay with us earlier in the summer. What a lovely gentle patient dog. Big shout out to his canine companion Kyra too!!
We are thrilled that Oscar and Kyra and their lovely family are coming back to stay at Grandas House again next summer.

We are now taking bookings for Summer 2025.

It was an absolute pleasure to host Lizzie and three generations of her lovely family. Superb guests who treated Grandas House with such respect. House left so clean & tidy and I can only say I was overwhelmed with the beautiful gifts they left including a personalised wooden sign "Welcome to Grandas House - Fun times start now". So thoughtful and kind of them.

And indeed they had fun times during their stay. They loved the Leprechaun Underground Cavern and were captivated by the storytelling and mystical charm of Kevin Woods our Leprechaun Whisperer.
Just a few minutes from the house in the former Victorian Village of Greenore they enjoyed a visit to the Greenore Model Railway/Maritime Mueum and from Greenore they took a trip on the Carlingford Ferry travelling out across the scenic Carlingford Lough. Fun times were had at Templetown Beach after they enjoyed strawberry picking at O'Neills in Wilville.
Further afield they enjoyed family days and made special memories at Emerald Park and at Funtasia in Drogheda.

We loved having them, they loved Grandas House so it's a win win situation. We look forward to their return visit in the future.

I'll have to set my alarm for 4.45am in the morning and see if I'll be lucky enough to see such a spectacle.

Was truly sorry to see Ashleigh and her family leave Granda's House this morning. What a lovely, lovely family!!

They fell in love with the area - walked the dogs, Kyra and Oscar on Templetown beach in the mornings at 6am and went paddle boarding later in the day, visited the Carlingford Leprechaun & Fairy Cavern and had a blast, went horse riding with Charlene in Carlingford Equestrian Centre, went on the sunset cruise on the Carlingford Ferry and danced the night away, visited Muchgrange Farm Shop beside us and loved their milk and gelato ice-creams, enjoyed dining out in the lovely restaurants in Carlingford and of course they visited Lily Finnegans pub and had a great nights craic.

They loved sitting in the garden and the simple things - listening to the birds chirping while the dogs ambled contentedly around the garden and the house. They loved the peace and quiet and the chance to slow down and relax.

And they loved it all so much they have already booked to return in July 2025!!!! They'll be SO welcome back - fab guests, truly lovely people.

No nicer places to visit than Carlingford & Greenore on a sunny day!! Grandas House has availability due to a cancellation from August 31st. Book now. Don't wait!! We are kid friendly & pet friendly.

Greenore : Take the Carlingford Lough Ferry on a day trip to N. Ireland where you can visit the Silent Valley, the Mournes and the beautiful carnival town of Newcastle.

Visit Coast & Co. and enjoy their culinary delights and their new giftware section. You can bring your doggie along too!!

Enjoy a round of golf or go fishing in the sea.

Carlingford : Visit Skypark or Carlingford Adventure Centre for fun water and land activities.

Go on a trek or a hike with Anam Tours and take in the beautiful scenery as Clodagh guides you up Slieve Foye.

Hire a bike from Carlingford Greenway Bike Hire and cycle the Carlingford-Omeath Greenway.

We had the pleasure of having Patricia, Gráinne and their group with their two dogs Nessa and Lola stay at Grandas House. What a lovely group. They made the most of their stay taking in all the sights in the locality and venturing further afield too. See below the review Gráinne posted on our review page.

'Just back from a great stay, loads of space for our large group including the dogs. Lovely welcome hamper was a sweet touch. Great location to base and tour around. Super location for so many places. We went hiking in the Mournes, day trip to Belfast, outlet shopping in Banbridge and numerous walks and cycles around the forest parks'.

House was left so tidy. Always welcome back to stay at Grandas House. Thanks to Patricia for sharing some of her photos with us.

Look who has just arrived!! Lucy has to be the most fashionable doggy to stay at Granda's House. Look at the cute pink tail!!!!

Lucy and her doggy companions are all set to explore the Cooley/Carlingford Peninsula with long walks on the beach, the Greenway and on the Carlingford & Greenore promenades. They will have lots of freedom and space in the large enclosed garden and outdoor area at Granda's House. And they are looking forward to dining in the local dog friendly restaurants.

Riley loved his staycation at Grandas House. He enjoyed numerous trips to Coast & Co. where he was warmly welcomed indoors by the staff. His furbaby owners enjoyed tasty breakfasts and lunches and got beautiful gifts in the new interior decor shop.
He also enjoyed his walkies on the promenade in Greenore and in Omeath as well as trips to the medieval village of Carlingford where they enjoyed a pitstop in Ma Bakers.
And in the evenings Riley loved to run around the enclosed garden at Grandas House.

Thanks to Mary for sharing her photos of her fur baby enjoying his stay at Granda's House recently. Yeti loved the space and freedom in the large enclosed garden and his visit to Greenore to watch the Carlingford Ferry coming and going. Thank you to Claire who shared these photos of her children and doggie enjoying a stay at Granda's House. With glorious weather the family chilled out and relaxed in the garden while the doggies enjoyed the freedom and space in the enclosed garden. The highlight for them was the 'stunning Northern Lights display' on Friday night but there was also a beautiful sunset last night when the family enjoyed a barbecue outdoors.
We look forward to Claire and the family returning to Granda's House. Superb guests!!!
