Great opportunity Joyce Country and Western Lakes Geopark Project

Reminder of our "Ask your geologist" event tomorrow in the playground car park in Tourmakeady from 2 to 4pm.

Children and adult alike will be able to interact with the geopark geologist to ask questions, explore local maps, touch the collection of local rocks and fossils and take part in a fossil hunt. Attendees can also bring their own rock, mineral or fossil sample for discussion. Agus is féidir linn labhairt as Gaeilge faoi na carraigeacha chomh maith.

This half-day tour of Built Vernacular Heritage will take you on a voyage of discovery in 3 of our geopark communities – The Neale, Ballinrobe and Partry – SEE FLYER for details. The tour Saturday 13th August 9am-1pm is part of Heritage Week, gratefully supported by the Heritage Council and Mayo County Council.
