Congratulations to everyone in Meribel on an awesome season :) :)
BOOM! Season 2 for Delicious Mountain has just finished, the last guests have just left :-( How did that even happen? Surely it was just yesterday we were plumping up pillows ready for the first arrivals in December?!
It was incredible - we had 249 mountain lovers staying with us in Chalet La Chouette over 18 weeks of the season. That is just under 14 each week - or darned near 100% occupancy! Incroyable! FIFTY guests this season had returned to us from the season 13/14 and FIFTY-FOUR people have already confirmed bookings for next 15/16 season. During this season we've used 3,240 eggs, they've gone into making (among many other things) 126 afternoon cakes, a lot of scrambled egg at breakfast and even some sous-vide poached eggs. We've stuffed approximately 180 guinea fowl breasts, sous vide cooked 36 kg's tenderloin pork, roasted 18kgs of cherry tomatoes and char-grilled around 27 racks of lamb. During breakfast Chris has cooked around SIXTY FIVE kilos of bacon, to go with all those eggs and we've gone through 72 boxes of Kellogg's cereals. We've cooked for 7 vegetarians, 2 gluten free diets and in total 144 children's meals. We've had FOUR happy couples celebrate their honeymoons with us and 8 guests with birthdays have enjoyed Kirtsy's special cakes at La Chouette.
We certainly have a fair few thank you's to dish out. Firstly, a huge thanks to the lovely Kirsty Fraser and Chris Wade who worked with us this season. You are a pair of absolute superstars and the guests agree - we are TOTALLY THRILLED you are returning next year. Thanks to all those amazing ski schools, New Generation, Parallel Lines , Magic in Motion and the fabulous guys at Sweet Snow Sports for looking after our guests on the mountain. We have as usual been super pleased with the service from Slide Candy who have fitted and rented to our guests.
Last but not least, a whopping 'thanks' to all of our 249 lovely guests who chose to stay with us this winter.
