Why I always say yes when people ask if the last 6 weeks of the year are good times to travel to Ireland! Particularly if you can get some of these flight deals I saw recently! The days may be shorter, but it’s such a fun and festive time to be there! Could easily be combined with travel to mainland Europe for other Christmas markets!! ❀️ πŸ’š

After 5 years of being back home from living in Cork for two years (and 2.5 years in my first house) I am SO happy to have my love letter to Ireland up on my walls!! Mixtiles had an offer for 16 8X8 tiles for $99 (though now for Black Friday they have 20 for $99, code bf23!!) so I finally pulled the trigger and ordered them and while I may move them around a bit more, I’m sooooooo happy to have these memories up on the wall!! Haha that is 48 tiles total!! πŸ™ˆπŸ˜

Do you have any Ireland photo walls? Would love to see them!

Hope you’re all doing great! SlΓ‘inte my friends. πŸ’š

Hi friends! I need your help please πŸ™‚ The university I work for is hosting a photo contest and I’d love to enter one of my photos from Ireland in summer 2022, if you can please help me select the ones to enter? πŸ’š There are two categories, β€œPeople” and β€œPlaces.” I can only submit 2 entries for each one, which is so hard!

They have asked us to consider this prompt: β€œWhat would you want someone who has never visited to know about this country?”

I tend to take very few pics of people so only the first 6 are eligible for that category. The remaining 43 photos are ones I whittled down for the β€œPlaces” category between my favorites or ones that had the most likes on previous posts. Can you please help me by liking the ones you would vote for?? πŸ™πŸΌ πŸ’š

Thanks so much in advance and please feel free to share with your FB friends! πŸ™‚ PS hope you have been well! πŸ’šπŸ’š I appreciate you!

SlΓ‘inte!
Kristin

β˜˜οΈπŸ’š Now offering consultation calls to help you plan your trip to Ireland! πŸ’šβ˜˜οΈ

As many of you know, I lived in Cork, Ireland for two years (2016-2018) and during that time I traveled through almost every coastal county (and more!) via car rental, bus, tour companies, and train. I also worked for Paddywagon tours in Cork where I took all of our tours multiple times and spoke with customers about planning day tours with Paddywagon, as well as general itinerary recommendations in our tourist office shop. Since that time, I have been back to visit Ireland twice, a week in November 2021 and for 4 weeks in May and June 2022. (I’m hoping to eventually plan group tours for women so we can visit Ireland together!)

I currently offer free tips and recommendations via this blog (and always will!) and I’m active on a non-affiliated Ireland travel recommendations page, but I feel I can be even more helpful to you by offering consultation calls (via phone) to help answer your questions and help you plan your itinerary!

I have created this form to be completed before we have our scheduled call which will help me better understand your needs and interests and better assist you during our call(s). Please note that I will not plan your itinerary for you, but I will give you my best recommendations, share any knowledge I have about where you plan to visit, and help with logistical planning so you can create your own itinerary. I can talk with you about Irish customs, slang, difference in shops/food available, and other things you may find different there. I will give you tips I have about financial concerns like using cash or card, tipping, and budgeting, etc. I also have traveled a lot in Europe (almost all solo) so can help with general travel advice and also traveling on a budget.)

The consultation fees ($20 for 30 minutes and $35 for 60 minutes) can be paid via Venmo or CashApp before the call takes place.

If you are interested in setting up a call, please message me here or email me at [email protected]

I’m hoping I can help with your planning and look forward to chatting with you! Please feel free to share this post with your friends! πŸ’š

β˜˜οΈπŸ’š Street art and murals around Ireland πŸ’šβ˜˜οΈ

I see a lot of discussion about the differences between visiting cities and smaller villages/towns. I must admit, I myself am not a β€œcity” girl at heart. I want to live near the conveniences of a city, but not necessarily live directly in the city center of one. I find that if I am too far away from β€œnature” I start to go a little crazy. This was honestly the hardest part for me when living in Cork city for 2 years. HOWEVER. πŸ’š There is SO MUCH I loved about living in Cork city and a large part of that is it’s unique character and how many awesome murals and street art pieces there are around. For anyone else who also likes stumbling upon these lovely finds, here are as many murals and instances of street art as I could find in my Ireland photos! The vast majority of them are from Cork city (as I spent so much time there) but there are also quite a few from Dublin and Galway, as well as a few random ones from other places. I hope you enjoy them and please feel free to share any ones you have found as I would love to see them!! πŸ’šπŸ’š

Looking back at this lovely day in June 2022 when I stumbled upon these lovely surprises that various people have left at Mullaghderg beach in County Donegal 😍 I had the whole place to myself and loved reading each and every one!

I found this beach when I originally went looking for Carickfinn beach but saw this beach in the map and had to go take a look! It has a nice parking lot and it’s just a short stroll down a wooden boardwalk. Definitely recommend stopping by! πŸ’šβ˜˜οΈ
