Many business leaders feel that their online profile does not articulate the strength of their leadership experience.
This is an understandable challenge - for example, when you look at your resume or LinkedIn 'About Me' section - how do you condense the learnings of a 20+ year career in such a short space?
Difficult, right?
However, if your personal branding goal is to develop new business, position yourself as a thought leader, win a C-Suite position or join more boards.
Consider the following 4 steps when developing your personal branding strategy:
1. Be clear on what your future goals are and how the wisdom you've accumulated in your career to date can help you achieve these goals.
2. Define your target audience and be specific in identifying the key senior stakeholders within this audience who hold the keys to your future success.
3. Be strategic as to what are the key messages you want to communicate to this target audience.
4. Balance depth of copy with clarity and simplicity.
