Not really archaeology related but oh so handy that the old site clothes still fits and are perfect for helping out on the family farm, a bit of fencing done today so hopefully the cattle can be let out in the next few days! Farming and archaeology.... Not really that different 😅😂

Got a new sieve stack and gave it a test run yesterday. Works really well, I'm especially happy with the circular wholes punched out instead of the rectangular wires, less smaller pieces got stuck!

Last bags washed, now just to dry and off to specialist they go, in the meantime I will start to prepare site archives for final archiving, and in a few weeks another big archiving project is due to begin 😁!

Back working from home again!

Have been working with a spectacular assemblage for the past few weeks, a good amount of worked/decorated bone and antler. Made me think of this modern reindeer piece, it's a knife, but looking at the decorations on it. Although very clear to see, the carvings are so shallow, it makes me wonder how would they survive? Would they still be visible centuries or millennia from now?
