Join us for an eye-opening documentary that explores the environmental and socio-economic importance of the Fenit Island Tombolo, a unique coastal formation in North Kerry. Produced by Digimack Video Productions Fenit and sponsored by LAWPRO, "The Fenit Island Tombolo: The Cost of Doing Nothing" sheds light on the critical need for nature-based coastal resilience strategies.

According to John O’Mahony, Chair of Fenit Coast Conservation (FCC), the documentary reveals the risks associated with inaction and emphasizes the value of modest, timely interventions that support long-term sustainability for future generations.

The collaboration between Tralee Bay Experience Fenit and the Marine Institute - Foras na Mara is a fantastic initiative! By combining local expertise with the Marine Institute's scientific resources, they can address key areas like marine life conservation and promote sustainable tourism. Projects like these not only protect delicate marine ecosystems but also foster a deeper appreciation for them within local communities and visitors alike.

Such partnerships can bring significant benefits:

1. Environmental Impact: Conservation efforts can restore habitats, protect endangered species, and maintain biodiversity in areas like Tralee Bay.

2. Educational Outreach: Community engagement initiatives and educational tours could raise awareness about marine ecosystems, making locals and tourists more informed advocates for the ocean.

3. Sustainable Tourism: By promoting eco-friendly tourism, they can offer immersive experiences that respect nature, which may attract a growing number of environmentally conscious travelers.

The tagging of two Angelsharks in Tralee Bay marks a significant step in understanding their ecology and conservation in Irish waters. With the data these tags will provide, researchers will gain valuable insights into the sharks' movements, habitat use, and behavior, which are crucial for developing conservation strategies. Kudos to Ross, Ollie, Sara, and the Marine Institute team for their dedication to marine research and protection of these fascinating species. This is a great win for marine biodiversity in our small yet wonderful -Tralee Bay! 🔱🌊

Such a pleasure to treat 5th and 6th class to Little Samphire Lighthouse, Fenit today. It is a lifetime memory for these children. Many thanks to John McGibney, Lighthouse tour guide and skipper Alan.

After months of hard work, planning, and coordinating (with a lot of patience—especially with our unpredictable Irish summer weather!), we are thrilled to unveil our new mini video for our updated website.

A huge thank you to Fenit Without for their outstanding drone work, professionalism, and for truly going the extra mile with the Tralee Bay Experience in Fenit. We also extend our gratitude to Fáilte Ireland and the Wild Atlantic Way Officers for their support and encouragement throughout this journey.

Despite the challenges with poor weather and disruptions to our boat tours, there’s light at the end of the tunnel—our upgraded website is nearly complete!
