Sunday morning - "still life"...
Daiva’s Textiles is a creative Limerick business that designs and hand makes quality accessories and fashion garments using natural fabrics.
Daiva Stasiukynaite is the artist, designer and maker for Daiva's Textiles. My story as a founder of Daiva's Textiles lies somewhere between art and design, crossing the boundaries. It is a one women operation that started for (creative) business in 2014. Back in Lithuania where I was born, my working career was revolving around an art environment for many years. After relocating to Ireland in 200
1 and a few career turns I have graduated with MA in History of Art & Architecture from the University of Limerick in 2006. I like to think that this experience was and still is part of the inspiration for my work. With my passion for art, craft, design, and handmade industry I continue to explore creativity as a force. I choose textiles as a medium to work with and I love it for the fact that outside the business aspect I find it relaxing and enriching my daily life. Texture, stitch, colour, natural fibres, collections that are made by hand, love of tradition, and sustainability - those are the elements that inspire me. My work philosophy is all about the industry and in creating pieces that celebrate handmade in all its irregular and unique beauty. I design and hand-make wearable garments, accessories using free-hand painting, dyeing, and printing techniques. I also work on commissioned pieces that might enhance and decorate your home. I always loved linen fabric because of its long history, traditions, and natural qualities. Coming from Lithuania and living in Ireland, countries with strong and old traditions of linen production, it was only natural to use linen for my work. I also work with silk and natural fibre blends creating wide product collection.

This made my day💛Such a lovely gesture from a customer for alteration of the dress. This often happens with my work, a customer likes the garment, but because it's one off pieces I often end up doing alteration. Should I charge for it... I never do, unless it's complicated alteration. But look what I got as a thank you gift💛 people are so kind and thank you again Eireen, I'm so grateful 🙏
By the way my customer runs a lovely shop at Cliffs of Moher "Clifftops", pup along when you out that way😊
August is a craft month in Ireland. We want to be supported, we work and love our work, we create, we follow our hearts, passion and put our visions into desings. We look for inspirations around and within... Ireland is simply beautiful, it's never ending inspirational source.

Work in progress on the wall hanging, not sure where it will take me yet, preparing add some hand stiching. Gold circle wasn't planned until this morning when I watched sun appearing over the roof tops through my window...its not the same as looking at it in the country site, but not less magical. #textileart #wallhanging #blockprint #handpaintedlinen #handstiching #daivastextiles
