We invite you and your family to come out and meet us at our stopovers on this year's run, featuring over 100 vintage and classic cars! Enjoy a festive atmosphere, soak in the automotive history, and create unforgettable memories.

Launch Night and Registration:

Join us to kick off the event! Meet fellow enthusiasts, finalize your registration, and receive your event materials. It's a fantastic start to an exciting weekend.

Saturday, 1st June: gathering at Treacy's Pub & Restaurant, R32 X803, from 9:30am, with departure scheduled for circa 10:30am/11am. Then we hit the road for our Heritage Run to the Irish National Stud & Japanese Gardens.

Retracing the Historic Gordon Bennett Route
Step back in time as we follow the original route of the legendary Gordon Bennett Race. Highlights include visits to the Timahoe Heritage Festival and Kildare Town. Our participants are encouraged to wear period-appropriate attire, with tweeds and vintage costumes highly recommended to enhance the historic atmosphere.

Monday, 3rd June: Gathering once again at our HQ, at Treacy's Pub & Restaurant,R32 X803, from 9:30am, with departure scheduled for circa 10:30am/11am - Leisure Run to Monasterevin. See Gordon Bennett Stopover Monasterevin.
We enjoy a scenic drive to Monasterevin for a vibrant street festival. The event culminates with a BBQ Finale at Treacys Pub, The Heath, offering a wonderful chance to unwind, share stories, and relish in the camaraderie of fellow classic car enthusiasts.

Monday June 3rd - Bank holiday weekend the Gordon Bennet Classic Car Run is returning to Monasterevin! Following a hugely successful event in 2023 the Gordon Bennett is back with an afternoon full of classic cars, entertainment & community. Be sure to put the date in your diary and join us! And if you'd be interested in helping out on the day please get in touch - these events always need kind volunteers to lend a hand.

We are thrilled to announce a special stop during our historic journey! On Sunday, 2nd June, at approximately 11:30am, our vintage cars will be making a grand appearance at the Timahoe Heritage Festival in Timahoe, Co. Laois.

Join us as we bring the charm of classic cars to this vibrant festival, which commemorates the 919 AD Viking raid on Timahoe. The Timahoe Heritage Festival is a celebration of all things history and heritage, and we are eager to immerse ourselves in the festivities.

Highlights of the Timahoe Heritage Festival include:

Timahoe Round Tower & Heritage Centre: Explore the rich history and stunning architecture, and grab a coffee at the Tower and Bean coffee shop

Viking Village: Experience the life and times of Gaels and Vikings with authentic reenactments, crafts, weaponry and more.

Less than three weeks until the Timahoe Heritage Festival, and what a weekend is in store!

Vikings, Monks, Warrior Knights, Heritage Talks, Art & Craft Fair, Amusements, Displays, Demonstrations, Heritage 5K Run, a Viking Village, Medieval Weapons, FREE KID’S Workshops from The School of Irish Archaeology, a Viking Longship, a stop-over of vintage & classic cars, as the Gordon Bennett Irish Classic Car Run, passes through on Sunday 2nd, Rune Readings, Pottery, Medieval Cooking, Book Launch, and so much more!

Oh and did we mention fights? Lots of fights, as Vikings and Fully Armoured Knights display their combat skills, before the kids get to take them on in battle, and hopefully banish them from Timahoe for another year!

It’s a fun filled, family friendly weekend, proving that history and heritage can be so much fun!
