It has been a while since I posted on here - I have been busy with textile art.

However, the paints and brushes came out this week on a grand scale. This is for Murphy's Bar in Sneem...trompe d'oeil - a trick of the eye - to cover a blocked in window space.

What do you think they have been up to??!!

Textile creativity continues and I have now joined an excellent online Stitch Club where I have the opportunity to take part in a different workshop every two weeks. Here are a few examples. All great fun and has been invaluable during the last year.

It's been a while but here are some things I have been doing through Lockdown...thank goodness for creativity!

These are using watercolour, stitch (using my clever embroidery sewing machine) and some coloured pencil. Made into greetings cards.

Any guesses what the last photo is? Clue..these were first made in 17th Century and take their name from an English county. They are very fiddly but fun to do.

Last night I felt like having a doodle! This was the result - nothing planned - just lost in my coloured pencils.

On looking at it again today I have reached the conclusion it's a Covid doodle! I see masks, droplets, the virus itself but with the centre left white....maybe light at the end of the tunnel? Also bubbles of air to help us breathe...and green shoots.

I'd be fascinated to hear what others see!

Firstly a request from my lovely caring granddaughter to crochet some rainbows for herself and her friends to support the frontline workers of the NHS in the UK.

This then led to experimenting with the pattern to make a bag....well what else would you do during lockdown?!!

Oh and the masks are ongoing...keep safe everyone ๐Ÿ™‚

Today I've been trying to master facemasks. The pattern was provided by East Coast Mask Makers - a brilliant Facebook group started yesterday in and around Enniskerry south of Dublin. Maybe check them out.

There is room for improvement and I will practice again tomorrow. There is a pocket inside for a filter/tissue. Anything to help ๐Ÿ™‚

Hi - it's been a while since I posted here and a lot has happened since!

It is now definitely a time for creative projects of all kinds so here is the first one just completed.

It was more like a crochet work-out for the hands as it is made from thick macramรฉ string and is very heavy.

Watch this space for the next project and in the meantime take care of yourselves.

Another aspect of Shades of Sneem. I have recently started a ceramics course and here are some of the initial efforts. The theme is marine/nautical with an emphasis on spirals and waves. A way to go until final projects, but all good fun.
