The location of our 2024 Mystery Trip last weekend was to the coastal resort of Ksamil in Albania. Often referred to on social media as 'The Maldives of Europe', I was keen to check it out for ourselves.
We got lots of pretty pictures but there is no doubt Ksamil is also a destination where there is a strong element of Insta v Reality 📸

I spent the first week of my recent annual leave onboard Princess Cruises newly launched ship – Sun Princess. Sailing out of Athens, the itinerary included ports of call in Montenegro, Corfu, Sicily & Naples 🇬🇷🇲🇪🇮🇹
Sun Princess is different to any ship I have cruised on previously. The main unique features include:
• The Piazza – spanning over 3 floors in the heart of the ship wrapped in a sphere of glass allowing the sunlight of the Med to flood in. You will find entertainment throughout the day & night as well as dining venues and the popular International Café ☕
• The Dome – A glass enclosed theatre style dome with plush loungers. A quiet indoor sanctuary during the day and an entertainment venue at night
• Princess Medallion – When you cruise with Princess cruises, rather than a keycard for your cabin, you get a €2 size coin that you wear around your neck or wrist. Your cabin door recognises as you walk towards it and automatically unlocks. You can order food through the Princess App anywhere on the ship and the crew will locate you to deliver it to you and you can easily locate other passengers you are travelling with.
The food and service onboard are excellent and there are several entertainment venues including the beautiful Princess Arena and of course O’Malleys Irish Pub (great entertainment & craic every night!) 🍹

My few days in Gran Canaria last week seem like a lifetime ago looking out the window in Navan this morning ☂️
What a great time to get away for a recharge of winter sun 🌞
I stayed in in Maspalomas. Right next to the beach and the long promenade that runs between Maspalomas & Meloneras. I haven't been to many hotels where the service has been as good as the Palm Beach! 🛎️
The Maspalomas dunes separate the resort from the busy built up resort of Playa del Ingles and there are a choice of trails you can take to hike across the dunes
We also visited the pretty resort of Puerto Mogan about half an hour from Maspalomas. Well worth strolling around the resort taking in the beautiful landscaped streets and harbour.

This is what a jam packed 4 days in Canada looks like.
I'm just back from a four night trip taking in 2 nights in Toronto, 1 night Niagara Falls and 1 night in Niagara on the Lake 🇨🇦
The weather was definitely on our side for the time of year. Cold but mainly sunny, showing off the beautiful autumn colours 🍁🍂
My top highlights were dinner at the rotating 360 restaurant at the top of the CN Tower, a few hours spent in Toronto Island Park, cycling around the city 🚲, the Hornblower cruise at Niagara Falls, zip lining over the falls 😱 and strolling around the beautiful Niagara on the Lake.
Definitely a great spot to consider for a long weekend!

Sad to say goodbye to Mexico today 🇲🇽. The second part of my trip was to attend my first Travel Counsellors Gold Conference with an amazing group of Travel Counsellor colleagues.
We've spent the last four nights in Secrets Moxche just outside Playa del Carmen.
The resort is so beautiful, with a huge selection of tropical pools to choose from. Anything from the sandy lagoon pool to the lively pool bar with games and live music. Like all Secrets resorts, it is adult only, all inclusive and offers an array of a la carte restaurants to choose from.

Getting ready to check out after a couple of chilled out days at before moving on to for our Gold Travel Counsellors Conference
Secrets the Vine has 7 restaurants and 7 bars. There is no need to make a reservation for the a la carte restaurants. Just arrive at a time that suits you. All the Secrets resorts are adult only and on an all inclusive basis. So far from my experience in the last couple of days, the service has been amazing.
Currently I am on the Hotel Zone of Cancun which is quite built up with lots of hotels, restaurants, shopping etc....
I'm looking forward to experiencing the contrast with Secrets Moxche which is located in the heart of Riviera Maya, about 10 minute drive from Playa del Carmen.

What an incredible few days in Italy this week! 🇮🇹
As most of you know, my colleague booked a mystery trip earlier this year for a group of us to fly out from Dublin last Saturday. I can't imagine the pressure she felt organising a trip for a group of fussy travel agents but oh my god did she pull it out of the bag!! (Literally.....have a look at my highlights to see how she revealed it!)
There was the added bonus that none of us had ever visited the Puglia region of Italy before so we were all exploring it for the first time
We packed in so much. The beautiful white cities of Ostuni (where we were based) and Locorotondo. The coastal towns of Polignano a Mare & Monopoli, the city of Lecce with its Roman Ampitheatre and of course the icing on the cake was to visit the popular unique town of Alberobello with the Trulli houses.
Thank you so much Sinéad for the huge effort you put in. I loved every minute of it, I just wouldn't like to be the person that has to follow it organising the next mystery trip 😂

There's no doubt about it, Sani Resort definitely lives up to the hype!
The resort comprises of 5 hotels, 27 restaurants and a marina, all surrounded by 7km of sandy beaches.
There is a daily program of activities to choose from. From yoga to ziplining and beach volleyball to sunset cruises. But that's only if you can tear yourself away from the stunning lagoon pools!

I'm just back from a week onboard one of MSC's newest ships World Europa.
The ship is huge, accommodating up to 6762 passengers.
There are 20 bars and lounges onboard & 13 dining venues (including 6 speciality restaurants). 🥢🍹
MSC World Europa moves from the Middle East this week to Europe where she will be based this Summer and Winter ☀️

It's hard to believe sitting on my couch in Navan (with the heating at full blast) that only yesterday I was waking up in paradise.
I hope the photos and videos I've shared on stories over the weekend speak for themselves.
I've read all the clichés, in all the brochures relating to the Maldives since I started working in travel, but as it turns out they are not exaggerating ~ Paradise on Earth, barefoot luxury, pristine white beaches, turquoise waters.... it's all true! 💙 (I never doubted! 😉)
Kuramathi in particular offers more than most of the island resorts. 9 à la carte restaurants, 3 buffet restaurants, 7 bars and 11 room categories (from beach to overwater).
The 2 bedroom beach houses are actually an amazing option for families or groups of friends (yes, it's not just honeymooners. In fact the kids club is incredible).
I'm happy to chat though any questions you have on Kuramathi. In the meantime I'll be hanging out here pinching myself as I look back on my thousands of photos from the last few days 🏝️

What a weekend and what a city!! If you like live music (and not just the country variety!) get yourself to Nashville 🇺🇸
It's almost overwhelming the options of places to choose from to see incredible live bands. Broadway in downtown Nashville is crazy (in a great way) Neon fronted buildings with music pouring from every floor. Some bars had at least 4 floors with a different live band on each. Even the food court had live music!
Most of it is modern country but with plenty of rock and pop thrown into the mix too.
For a more traditional old American country music night, get down to the Grand Ole Opry where all the greats, at one time or another, have graced the iconic circle that sits in the centre of the stage. They don't always announce all acts in advance and you could be in for a surprise. We had tickets for Friday night and none other than Garth Brooks made a surprise appearance for the last song 🎶
Nashville is a compact city, easy to get around by foot or bicycle with plenty of surprises and nostalgia around each corner, particularly if you've grown up in a house filled with country music. I honestly cannot wait to go back. 🤠🎶🎸

My trip to Cappadocia in Turkey last week was out of this world. At times it almost felt like I was on a movie set. The trip definitely exceeded every hyped up expectation that I had from all the years I've been looking it up!
Sunrise and sunset in Cappadocia is what it's all about. 150 hot air balloons take off every morning of the year before sunrise (weather permitting) and float above the unique rock formations and fairy chimneys that make Cappadocia so special.
This is just a tiny fraction of the thousands of photos I took over the few days, it's hard to pick a favourite! 💕
