Two cultures collided as the Fiji rugby team practiced their haka on a cold Irish morning ahead of their clash against Ireland tomorrow. It is amazing to see how sport can bring cultures from opposite sides of the world together

A Classic for the ages was the only way to describe yesterdays All-Ireland final between Clare and Cork with Clare winning out 3-29 (38) to 1-34 (37) after extra time in Croke Park in front of 84,000 fans.
The players showed great skill and determination for the entire 70 minutes plus 20 minutes extra time.
A massive congratulations to Clare as they lifted the Liam McCarthy cup for the first time in 11 years, only the fifth in their history.

Our national sport served up two absolute classics between Clare and Kilkenny and Limerick v Cork showcasing why hurling is the best game in the world.
Extreme levels of skill and fitness from all four teams were on view in our national stadium on Saturday and a sold out stadium on Sunday. For any visitors or guests from abroad that got to witness these games, they would have seen the REAL passion and culture within Ireland.
Best of luck to both Cork and Clare who will contest the All Ireland final on July 21st, live on GAA Go and RTÉ.

The creation of Hurling Tours Ireland

My name is James Kavanagh and I created Hurling Tours Ireland in 2018 because of my love of our native sport, hurling. Being from Kilkenny, (the real home of hurling) all I knew since I was 5 years old was hurling and playing the sport every day. I admit nothing compares to the thrill and excitement of my playing days, but, I get a great feeling from teaching both the young and the old about Hurling.

I worked in Kilkenny Castle for many years and I was asked many times a day by tourists about hurling. Tourists would ask me what sport everyone around the city is playing. I loved explaining the sport to them and seeing their reaction and interest in the sport. They struggled to believe me when I explained that it was the fastest sport in the world and that the players aren't paid and that it is played in 42 countries worldwide. I am shocked that people still have not heard of this wonderful sport. And so, the idea for Hurling Tours Ireland was created- to spread the wonderful message of hurling to all!
