Enya is set to release her new album this November

Enya is set to release her new album 'Dark Sky Island' on November 20th. It is her first release since the Christmas album And Winter Came, which was released in 2008.
Enya says "This album has a theme of journeys. Journeys to the island; through the length of a lifetime; through history, through emotions; and journeys across great oceans. So although it's not a 'themed' album, as such, we nevertheless have an underlying connection between songs."

A fluid, emotional and dexterous guitar style inspired by Delta blues, West African guitar, Appalachian mountain music, vintage country & western, gospel, noise and rhythm gives Marisa an edge all of her own. Three albums and a host of limited releases in, her acoustic and electric guitar playing is compelling: she effortlessly veers from delicate to distorted, adrift to serene, tight-woven to unbound. Baz Ashmawy and Mammy nominated for an International Emmy Award.

Baz Ashmawy said that he is thrilled to be nominated for an International Emmy award for hit show 50 Ways to Kill Your Mammy, and is heading to New York for free for the awards on November 21 - 22.
Now in its second run on TV, the show sees Baz and his mother Nancy globetrotting experimenting with extreme sports. It has been nominated for Best Non-Scripted Entertainment at the 2015 International Emmy Awards.

The first series of 50 Ways to Kill Your Mammy has been broadcast in 100 territories and it has become Sky Vision’s most successful factual entertainment show ever.

INTERLUDE at THE RHA Dublin

Thought festival season was over for 2015?,, well it’s not.
Introducing the brand new city-festival on October Bank Holiday Weekend 23-25.
INTERLUDE at The RHA is a three-day music, movie and art event spread between seven of the galleries impressive rooms, and outdoor courtyard. Featuring a live music room, club space, cabaret cinema, cocktail club, craft beer bar, vinyl room and pop-up restaurant, this event promises to fill your bank holiday calendar to the brim with something totally new to the city.
Located just off St. Stephen’s Green in the centre of the city, The RHA, has, in recent years been establishing itself as an alternative venue, playing host to a wide variety of bespoke events and parties for the art and music scene. And this event cements and celebrates that new direction. Art and music belong together; nowhere more than here.

DJ’s playing INTERLUDE include Tom Middelton, Ashley Beedle, The Reflex, Justin Robertson, Get Down Edits, Keep Schtum, The Disconauts & Arveene with many more live acts and DJ’s still to be announced.
The 600 square metre Gallery One is being transformed into the Cabaret Cinema for the weekend. The space will come alive with a giant HD, surround sound screen and will make the perfect place to lounge with a full bar and table service. Cabaret Cinema will feature a selection of music focussed and independent movies such as Arcade Fire’s The Reflektor Tapes.

Secret Song 15 Secrets 1 Day Sunday 4th October.

Secret Song, a new one-day festival, is being sprung down in West Cork this Sunday.
On Sunday 4th October, Levis’, Ballydehob will play host to 15 performances of national and international artists, but shhhhhh the line-up will only be revealed on the day.
On stepping over the Corner House's threshold 15 intimate and unique performances will take place from room to room – moving from the shop counter, to the parlour (being careful of the good china), and on to the outback of Levis’.
Secret Song is set to be a celebration of everything that the performers and the audience have loved of these gigs to date.

Secret Song takes place this Sunday 4th October in Levi’s Ballydehob West Cork. Tickets are priced at €30 and on sale now

Kite Surfing and Music Festival Achill Island 25th - 27th September.

Kite Surfing and Music Festival & The Battle for the Lake, takes place this weekend on Achill Island. Over the the weekend audiences will be entertained and thrilled by the kitesurfing action, music, funfair, food village, & a BBQ competition to entertain all the family.
To celebrate their fifth year on Achill Island the Pure Magic team who also run Battle for the Bay in Clontarf, Co. Dublin will set Lough Keel alight to close this year’s festival. Pure Magic has teamed up with a team of pyrotechnic professionals to bring you a truly spectacular finale to the festival. To add an extra dose of magic, being added to the mix is superstar magician Shane Gillen. The magician will be at the festival mystifying and hypnotising all around him.

New Ross Piano Festival Thurs 24th - Sun 27th September.

The New Ross Piano Festival came into being in 2006 with the first festival taking place in September of that year. The festival came about due to a serendipitous collaboration between the local voluntary music organisation, Music for New Ross, and the internationally acclaimed concert pianist Finghin Collins, who at that time had just moved into the local area.

The Festival began modestly enough, focussing on Irish and Irish-based performers in its first year, but soon took on an international dimension, and over the intervening years has welcomed pianists from Japan, Korea, China, the USA and many European countries. Each year there is an element of chamber music – sometimes a string quartet, sometimes a string trio, and once even had an orchestra! The festival has been reviewed in many international publications including Gramophone, BBC Music Magazine, Pianiste (France) and PIANONews (Germany).
Artists include~
ALEXEI GRYNYUK, CÉDRIC TIBERGHIEN, DARIA VAN DEN BERCKEN, FIDELIO PIANO TRIO, FINGHIN COLLINS, OLGA SCHEPS, JIM DOHERTY, COLM “STRIDE” O’BRIEN and the RTÉ CONCERT ORCHESTRA.

The Corrs performed their first live show in many years last weekend after they reunited for the BBC Radio 2 Live In Hyde Park concert in London.
During their time together they have sold more than 40 million albums worldwide making them one of the most successful Irish groups of all time.
Andrea, the lead singer, said, “We’re in the process of making a new record, so it feels just right to do this. It’s exciting Andrea went on to explain that the band had to take a break when two of her siblings became consumed with, “babies and all that,” but that The Corrs are now once again ready to dazzle crowds with their unique music.
They have released five studio albums, a number of singles, and have gone platinum in multiple countries. Their album "Talk on Corners" was the biggest-selling album in the UK in 1998.
They confirmed their comeback in June and are set to release a new album soon.

U2 Tickets Sell Out In Minutes,

Yep the boys are back in town, and perhaps with no surprise, sold out their November gigs in Ireland in 30 minutes or so!
So even the old guys can still earn a crust playing a few tunes for us.
U2's shows at the Dublin venue will take place on November 23, 24, 27 and 28, with the Belfast shows on November 18 and 19.

Lords of Strut @ Tivoli Theatre Secret Location of Raving New Tiger Dublin Fringe Show 'Contain-A-Rave'

Comedy Acrobats Lords of Strut have announced that their much anticipated Tiger Dublin Fringe Show, Contain-A-Rave, will take place at the Parking Lot of the Tivoli Theatre, from 11 – 13 September.
With Contain-A-Rave, Lords of Strut invite you to “step into the psychedelic, in a shipping container, for 30 min of hard town groovin, sweat box, music fuelled, dead beat munch-up!”, where the duo have only one rule - “All ye have to do is dance!” The dress code is “Amazing!” From leg warmers and headbands, to lycra leggings and neon socks, as Sean-tastic says “If you look at a piece of clothing and think ‘That’s amazing!’, then that’s what you wear.”
A not to be missed mad show, Contain-A-Rave premieres at the Tiger Dublin Fringe, 11 – 13 September, at the Parking Lot of the Tivoli Theatre. Tickets are €10, and are available from fringefest.com.
